유아대상 수학그림책의 교육적 활용을 위한 내용 분석 (2009년∼2018년도 출판본을 중심으로)

국문 초록

본 연구는 2009년부터 2018년까지 최근 10년간 국내에서 출판 및 번역된 유아대상 수학그림책의 내용을 분석하였다. 분석대상으로 선정한 72권의 유아대상 수학그림책의 내용과 특성을 누리과정 교사지도서에 기초한 생활주제와의 관련성, 수학이야기 플롯, 수학적 과정기술, 수학적 탐구하기 하위내용 분포 등의 기준에 따라 분석하였다. 본 연구의 분석결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 생활주제별 수학그림책의 내용을 분석한 결과, ‘동식물과 자연’이 가장 높은 비율을 나타냈으며, 그 다음으로‘유치원과 친구’주제가 많이 나타났다. 둘째, 수학이야기 플롯의 결과는 이야기의 줄거리가 있고 발단-전개-절정-결말의 플롯이 있는 범주 1이 가장 많았고, 그 다음으로 이야기의 줄거리와 발달-전개-절정-결말이 없는 플롯 범주 3이 비슷한 비율을 나타냈다. 셋째, 수학적 과정기술별로 분석한 결과, ‘추론 및 증명하기’내용이 가장 높게 나타났으며, 다음으로‘문제해결하기’의 내용이 높은 비율을 차지했다. 넷째, 수학적 특성인 수학적 탐구하기의 세부내용별로 수학그림책의 내용을 분석한 결과, ‘수와 연산의 기초개념 알아보기’가 가장 높은 비율을 차지했으며, 그 다음으로‘공간과 도형의 기초개념 알아보기’가 높은 비율을 차지했다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 본 연구는 유아교육기관 및 현장의 교사들이 유아들에게 수학교육을 하는 데 있어 수학그림책을 바람직한 방법으로 활용할 수 있는 방향을 제시할 것을 기대한다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to analyze the contents of children’s picture book for mathematics among picture books that were published or translated in the last 10 years from 2009 to 2018. 72 final picture books were used to analyze the mathematics educational contents and characteristics of children’s picture book for mathematics through the distribution in relativity with life topics based on Nuri curriculum, by mathematics story plot, by mathematical process technique, and mathematical inquiry. Based on the result of analysis, first, in terms of contents of picture book for mathematics by life topics, ‘Animals, plants and nature’ accounted for the highest ratio, followed by ‘Kindergarten and friends.’ Second, in terms of mathematics story plot, category 1 with the summary of story and the plot of setting-conflict-climax-conclusion, followed by category 1 without the summary of story and the plot of setting-conflict-climax-conclusion, which displayed a similar ratio. Third, in terms of the analysis of mathematical process technique, ‘deduction and verification’ accounted for the highest ratio, followed by ‘problem-solving’. Fourth, in terms of the analysis of contents of subcategories of mathematical inquiry, ‘learning the basic concept of number and arithmetic operation’ accounted for the highest ratio, followed by ‘learning about space and figures’. Based on such results, educational implications on children’s picture book for mathematics and basic data in the desired directions for the use of these books in early childhood mathematics education can be provided.
