유아기 미디어 이용이 초등학교 적응에 미치는 영향: 사회적 유능감의 매개효과

국문 초록

본 연구는 유아기 미디어 이용과 초등학교 적응과의 관계에서 유아의 사회적 유능감의 매개효과를 살펴보기 위해 수행되었다. 아동패널 7차와 8차년 연구에 참여한 972명 아동을 대상으로 상관관계 분석과 구조방정식 분석을 실시하였다. 분석결과 첫째, 미디어 이용 놀이시간은 초등학교 적응 및 사회적 유능감과 부적상관을 보였으며, 초등학교 적응과 사회적 유능감은 정적상관을 보였다. 둘째, 유아의 미디어 이용 놀이시간과 초등학교 적응 간의 관계에서 사회적 유능감의 부분매개가 확인된 반면, 미디어 이용 교육시간과 초등학교 적응, 사회적 유능감 간에는 통계적으로 유의한 경로가 나타나지 않았다. 본 연구결과는 놀이목적으로 미디어 이용 시 유아의 사회발달 측면에 부정적 영향이 강화되기 때문에 유아기 미디어 이용 지도 시 미디어 사용 목적과 적절한 이용에 대한 지도가 강조되어야 함을 시사했다. 또한 미디어 이용 놀이시간과 초등학교 적응과의 관계에서 사회적 유능감의 부분매개효과는 과도한 미디어 사용으로 인한 초기 초등학교 적응의 어려움을 사회적 유능감 향상을 통해 해소시킬 수 있음을 시사한다.

영문 초록

This study was conducted to measure at the mediated effects of the social competence of children in relation to infantile media use and elementary school adaptation. Correlation analysis and structural equation analysis were performed on 972 children who participated in the 7th and 8th years of the Children s Panel. The results were as followed; First, The media play usage time showed the social competence and inadequacy of elementary school, while the elementary school adaptation and Social competence mediated effects showed the static correlation. On the other hand, there was no statistically significant correlation between media use education time and elementary school adaptation and social competence. Second, while partial matching of Social competence mediated effects was confirmed in the relationship between infant media play use time and elementary school adaptation, the medium effect of Social competence mediated effects did not appear in the relationship between media use time as a whole and elementary school adaptation.
