들뢰즈의 시간론과 죽음교육의 의미

국문 초록

이 연구는 들뢰즈의 시간론과 죽음교육의 관계를 탐구하고자 기획되었다. 기술 발전이 사회와 정치를 주도하는 기술 결정론 사회의 도래와 더불어 삶과 죽음의 의미는 극적으로 변화하고 있다. 이런 배경 속에서 본 연구는 시간의 중요성에 주목하고 이를 탈근대적 죽음교육론을 모색하는 자원으로 삼고자 하였다. 들뢰즈의 시간론은 경험적 시간인 크로노스와 그것을 가능하게 해주는 논리적 시간인 아이온으로 대별된다. 또, 그는 베르그손의 경험 중심적 시간관과 맥태거트의 사변적 시간관을 종합하여 ‘순간과 영원의 동시성’이라는 역설적이고 종합적인 시간관을 제시한다. 우리는 들뢰즈의 배움론과 관련지어 이 논의를 철학자 고(故) 김진영의 애도일기 속에서 구체화함으로써 죽음교육의 의미를 파악할 수 있다. 앞으로의 죽음교육은 어둠으로 비유되는 죽음관에 입각해 삶과의 분리 속에 이해된 근대적 모델이 아니라, 죽음 자체를 성장의 중요한 계기로 삼는 관점에서 이루어져야 한다. 이는 죽음교육의 탈근대성을 발견하는 작업이자 사회적 재난의 의미를 성찰하는 계기가 될 것이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between Deleuze’s time theory and death education. The meaning of life and death is changing dramatically with the advent of a technology-determination society in which technological progress leads society and politics. Against this backdrop, the study sought to focus on the importance of time and use it as a resource to seek extracurricular theories of death education. Deleuze s time theory is matched by the empirical time, chronos, and the logical time that makes it possible. In addition, Deleuze puts together Bergson s experience-oriented time perspective and McTaggart s logical time perspective, presenting a paradoxical and comprehensive time perspective of ‘moment and eternity concurrency’. We can grasp the meaning of death education by materializing the discussion in the mourning diary of the philosopher Kim Jin-young(2018) in connection with Deleuze s theory of learning. Future death education should be based on the death view, which is likened to darkness, not on the modern model understood in separation from life, but on the point of taking death itself as an important opportunity for growth. This will be a work to discover the dislocation of death education and an opportunity to reflect on the meaning of social disasters.
