지적장애 성인의 요리활동 체험연구

국문 초록

이 연구의 목적은 요리활동이 지적장애 성인의 자립생활을 위해 어떠한 평생교육적 의미가 있는지 탐색하는 데 있다. 이를 위하여 요리활동 프로그램 진행과정에서 질적연구 방법을 적용하여 이 연구의 목적을 달성하고자 하였다. 연구참여자는 만 20세 이상의 지적장애 성인 3명을 선정하였다. 자료는 2018년 2월부터 9월까지 총 8개월에 걸쳐 수집하였다. 자료 수집 방법은 연구참여자가 요리활동 프로그램 시 참여관찰, 심층면담으로 이루어졌다. 참여관찰은 2018년 2월부터 8월까지 요리활동 프로그램 25회기에 걸쳐 이루어졌다. 연구참여자와 정보제공자의 심층면담은 3차례 진행되었고 개별적으로 1시간에서 1시간 30분 정도 소요되었다. 모든 내용은 녹음한 후 전사하였고 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 지적장애 성인의 자립생활을 위한 요리활동 체험에 대한 탐색은`내 안에서 찾은 희망 , 둘째, 요리활동 체험이 자립생활에 주는 의미로는`홀로서기를 위해 내딛는 한걸음 , 셋째, 요리활동 체험 속에 나타나는 평생교육적 의미는`끝이 없는 배움 으로 나타났다. 이와 같은 결과를 통해 지적장애 성인의 자립생활을 위해서는 혼자 할 수 있는 기회를 제공하여 그들의 잠재력을 깨우칠 수 있도록 반복적이고 지속적인 교육이 필요하다는것을 다시 한 번 확증하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this research is to investigate the significance of cooking activity in lifelong educational meaning for independent living of adults with intellectual disabilities. For this, a qualitative research method was applied in proceeding the cooking activity program to achieve the purpose of this research. For the research, 3 adults with intellectual disabilities aged over 20 were recruited. Data were collected for a total of 8 months from February to September 2018. The data were collected through participant observation and in-depth interviews while the research participants were taking part in the cooking activity program. The participant observation was conducted throughout the 25 sessions of the cooking activity program from Feb to August 2018. The in-depth interviews with the research participants and information providers were carried out 3 times, and they took about 1 to 1.5 hours individually. All contents were recorded and transcribed, and the results of the research are as follows: First, the exploration of the cooking activity experience of the adults with intellectual disabilities for independent living resulted in `hope living inside me ; second, the meaning of the cooking activity experience when it comes to independent living was`one step toward living alone ; and third, the meaning of the cooking activity experience in terms of lifetime education was`endless learning. Based on such results, it has been reconfirmed that it is necessary to perform repeated and continuous education for intellectually disabled adults to live a independent life by providing opportunities that they can do things by themselves where they can realize their potential.
