부부관계가 결혼행복감과 우울에 미치는 영향 -베이비붐 세대 여성과 에코붐 세대 여성을 중심으로-

국문 초록

본 연구는 부부간 견해의 유사성과 성만족감 등의 변수를 포함한 부부관계의 상호적합성 영역과 임금노동 및 가사역할에서의 부부분담 및 부부간 여가활동 공유 그리고 갈등대처방식을 포함한 상호과정적 영역이 베이비붐 세대 여성과 에코붐 세대 여성의 결혼행복감과 우울에 연관되는 모습을 관찰하였다. 한국여성정책연구원이 수집한 <여성가족패널조사> 6차 자료를 주분석대상으로 삼아, t-검정과 Chi-검정 및 상관분석 그리고 위계적 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 상호과정적 영역 중 갈등대처방식을 구성한 3개의 변수들에 주목하면, 회피형 대처방식이 결혼행복감을 낮추고 우울을 높이며 이성적 대화방식이 결혼행복감을 높이고 우울을 낮추는 것으로 나타났다. 언어적 공격 및 고함 등의 대처방식은 베이비붐 세대 여성의 우울에만 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 가사 및 돌봄 수행시간은 베이비붐 세대 여성의 결혼행복감에 정적 연관성이 유의미하고 가사 및 돌봄 분담비율도 에코붐 세대 여성의 결혼행복감에 정적으로 유의미하게 연관되며 우울에 부적인 연관성이 유의미하게 나타나서, 가사 및 돌봄 역할이 여성들에게 단순한 노동이 아니라 가족에 대한 애정표현으로 수용되고 있을 가능성을 시사한다. 한편 상호적합성 영역 중에서는 성만족감이 베이비붐 세대 여성과 에코붐 세대 여성의 결혼행복감과 우울에 공통적으로 유의미하게 연관되는 반면, 견해의 유사성에 유의미하게 반응하는 것은 베이비붐 세대 여성의 우울 그리고 에코붐 세대 여성의 결혼행복감이다. 종합하자면, 상호적합성 영역 중 부부간 견해의 유사성과 성만족감, 그리고 상호과정적 영역 중 회피형 대처와 이성적 대화방식이 결혼행복감과 우울에 미치는 영향력이 여타 변수들의 투입여부와 상관없이 일관적이고 회귀계수의 설명력도 크다. 연령과 교육수준 및 견해의 유사성 등의 변수들이 베이비붐 여성의 경우에는 우울에 그리고 에코붐 여성의 경우에는 결혼행복감에만 연관되는 식으로 차이를 보이는 것은, 양 세대 여성의 발달단계상 차이 및 출생 집단 차이 등에 기인하는 것으로 추론된다. 이는 부부상담시 피상담 여성의 세대적 특성이 중요하게 고려되어야 함을 시사한다.

영문 초록

This study observes how conjugal relationship affects marital happiness and depression of babyboom generation and those of echoboom generation among women. The data from Korean Longitudinal Survey of Women and Families collected by Korean Women’s Development Institute was analyzed and t-test, Chi-square test, correlation analysis, and the hierarchical regression analysis were used. The results suggest that conflict avoidance among the three styles of conflict management is negatively correlated with the level of marital happiness and positively correlated with the level of depression on both generations. In addition, engaging in rational conversation is positively related to marital happiness, and negatively related to depression. The frequency of verbal aggression, on the other hand, shows significant effects only on babyboomer’s depression. The explanatory power of conjugal similarity of values, sexual satisfaction, conflict avoidance, and rational conversation, are strong for both generations. Meanwhile, the absolute time consumption for fulfilling family roles is rather positively related with baby-boomer’s marital happiness, and the ratio of family role division significantly affects echo-boomer’s marital happiness/depression. According to the results, fullfiling family roles seems to be regarded by women as a way of expressing love for their family members. The conjugal similarity of values has positive effects on marital happiness of echoboom generation and negative effects on depression of babyboom generation. The different effects of those between the two generations can be explained as either the cohort effects or the life stage effects. This implies that the characteristics of each generation should be considered important in marital counseling.
