초등학교 ‘과학의 달’ 가정 통신문의 안내말 및 행사 분석

국문 초록

본 연구는 초등학교 과학의 달 가정 통신문 안내말의 텍스트 네트워크 분석을 통해 안내말의 주요 단어와 구조적 특징을 살펴보고, 과학의 달 행사의 종류, 대상, 참여형태를 분석하는데 목적이 있다. 연구는 가정 통신문으로서 기본 요건을 갖춘 87편을 대상으로 하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 과학의 달 가정 통신문의 안내말에 출현한 단어들을 분석한 결과, ‘과학’단어가 가장 많이 출현하였고, 이외에 과학 행사와 관련하여 ‘학생’, ‘관심’,‘참여’ 등이 많이 출현한 것으로 볼 수 있었다. 반면에 ‘체험’은 상위권의 단어가 아님을 볼 때 이를 강조하는 가정 통신문의 안내도 필요해 보였다. 둘째, 가정 통신문에 소개된 과학의 달 행사를 분석한 결과, ‘항공과학탐구대회’가 가장 많은 학교에서 개최하는 것으로 나타났고, 이외에 ‘기계과학탐구대회’, ‘과학그림탐구대회’, ‘자연관찰탐구대회’, ‘과학탐구실험대회’를 그 다음 순으로 많이 개최되는 것으로 분석되었다. 대부분의 대회가 고학년 위주로 개최되었고, 팀 형태보다는 개인이 참여하는 형태가 많았다. 또한 주요 대회가 교육청 대회의 예선을 병행하거나 지필이나 서술형 평가로 시행되는 경우도 있었다.

영문 초록

This study aims to examine key words and structural features of elementary school announcements through the text network analysis of announcements of elementary school news letters for Science Month and further analyze kinds of Science Month events, targets and participation types. As research subjects, this study selected 87 letters basically qualified as school news letters. The results of this study can be summarized as follows; Firstly, when analyzing key words commonly seen in announcements of school news letters for Science Month, this study discovered that the word, ‘Science’, was used most, followed by ‘Student’, ‘Interest’ and ‘Participation’ regarding science events. Besides, the word, ‘Experience’, seemed to be of great importance, but it did not belong to the top list of key words. Therefore, it seemed necessary to be emphasized in announcements of school news letters. Secondly, when analyzing Science Month events introduced by school news letters, this study discovered that ‘Aeronautical Science Inquiry Competition’ was most held by elementary schools, followed by ‘Mechanical Science Inquiry Competition’, ‘Science Picture Inquiry Competition’, ‘Natural Observation Inquiry Competition’ and ‘Scientific Observation Experiment Competition’. Interestingly, most of the science events were mainly held for upper graders, and in the participation type, students participated in such events as individuals rather than as teams. Moreover, most of the participants were qualified for main competitions through Education Office preliminaries and evaluated through written or descriptive tests.
