영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to assess the adolescents substance abuse and the influence factors of the substance use. The research method used in this study was descriptive survey research. The total subjects of this study were 1,714 middle and high school students at a local city. The data were collected from October 22nd to November 5th, 2004 and analysed by Frequency, x2-test, t-test, ANOVA, and Scheffe test Using the SPSS PC+ 12.0 windows Program. The results were as follows. 1. For the last year, 7.5% of the middle school students, 11.3% of the high school students, and 34.5% of the vocational high school students had a smoking experience. And 30.7% of the middle school students, 52.8% of the high school students, 67.5% of the vocational high school students had a drinking experience. In term of drug using for last 1 year, 2.4% of the middle school students, 3.0% of the high school students, 3.9% of the vocational high school students had a drug using experience. 2. In the mean score of smoking, the middle school students were 15.08, the high school students were 15.71, and the vocational high school students were 19.86, and there was significant difference in school (F=102.217, p=.001) In the mean score of drinking, the middle school students were 14.08, the high school students were 15.72, and the vocational high school students were 18.69, and then there was significant difference in school (F=135.437, p=.000). In the mean score of drug use, the middle school students were 14.44, the high school students were 14.37, and the vocational high school students were 14.46, and there was not significant difference (F=0.243, p=.784). 3. In terms of the smoking level based on the general characteristics of the subjects, there was significant difference in gender (t=36.096, p=.001), number of siblings (F= 3.186, p=.023), economic status (F=5.269, p=.001), parents living together (F=5.285, p=.001), father s educational status (F=7.534, p=.001), mother s educational status (F=8.707, p=.001), father s job (F=4.611 , p=.001), and mother s job (F=3.477, p=.004). In terms of the drinking level based on the general characteristics of the subjects, there was significant difference in school performance (F=5.138, p=.001), economic status (F=5.369, p=.001), parents living together (F=3.593, p=.003), father s educational status (F=5.831 , p=.001), mother s educational status (F=8.547, p=.001), father s job (F=5.459, p=.001), mother s job (F=2.316, p=.041). In terms of the drug using level based on the general characteristics of the subjects, sex (t= 1 0.419, p=.001), siblings numbers (F=3.841 , p=.009), economic status (F=8.617, p=.001), parents living together (F=2.763, p=.017), mother s educational status (F=2.878, p=.035). Thus this study concluded that these were significant differences in smoking, drinking and drug using experience among the middle, high, and vacational high school students. Therefore, it is required that the adolescents are offered drug prevention program based on their grade or substance using level.
