발굴유물의 효율적 관리와 장기미발간보고서의 발간 전략 －영남대학교박물관의 사례－

국문 초록

영남대학교박물관에서는 최근 발굴유물의 효율적이고 안정적인 관리를 위하여 연구 및 전시 활용도가높은 일부 유물을 제외하고는 대부분 국립기관에 이관하였다. 소장하고 있는 유물에 대해서는 상설전시및 특별전을 통해 일반인에게 공개하고, 유물대여, 열람, 복제 등을 통해 외부 기관 및 연구자와 함께 연구함으로써 다방면으로 적극 활용하였다. 또한 지역 언론사를 통해 그 내용을 연재하거나 지방자치단체 관련 부서의 지원을 받아 평생학습 사업을 운영하여 시민들도 우리 지역 문화재에 대해 관심을 갖고 공감할수 있도록 노력하였다. 이 밖에도 발굴 당시 유물과 함께 출토되었다가 오랫동안 수장고에 보관되어 있던인골과 동물유존체에 대해서도 국내외 연구기관과 협력하여 분석과 연구를 진행하였다. 동시에 이러한연구자료를 전시하고 그 성과물을 발간하였으며 그 내용을 더 많은 연구자들이 공유할 수 있도록 노력하고 있다. 그런가 하면 1970년대와 1980년대에 조사한 유적 중 일부에 대한 장기미발간보고서를 지속적으로 발간하고 있다. 최소한의 예산으로 일을 진행해야 할 형편이므로 무엇보다 경비절감이 최우선 과제였다. 이에 박물관 소속 연구원 중 전공 인력을 배치하되 국가인력지원사업을 최대한 활용하고 업무가 과다해지지 않도록 효율적인 운용을 꾀하였으며 학교에서 운영하는 인력(국가근로장학생)도 최대한 활용하였다. 동시에 양질의 보고서를 작성하기 위해 외부 연구자 및 사진촬영 전문가와 협업하고 당시 발굴에 참여한 연구자들을 초청하여 세미나를 개최하는 노력도 마다하지 않았다. 보고 대상 중 일부 유물에 대해서는 타기관이나 자체의 특별전과 연계하여 진행함으로써 사진촬영비, 보고서 발간비 등을 절감하였다.

영문 초록

The museum to which I belong continues to publish the long-term unpublished reports about some relics investigated in the 1970s and 1980s. Since it is required to proceed with a minimal budget, the top priority is given to the reduction in expenses. Thus, the professional research personnel are assigned to this project and we try to make full use of the national manpower support project. In addition, the project is effectively operated as long as it does not conflict with other projects. Manpower (students who receive a national work-study scholarship) being operated at schools are fully used. At the same time, we try to produce high-quality reports in close collaboration with external researchers and professional photographers. We also make efforts to invite researchers participating in the excavation to the seminar. We could reduce some expenses including photograph fees and publication fees by showing some relics in the special exhibitions held by museums including our museum. For efficient and stable management of relics, most of relics excluding some which can be highly used for research and exhibitions are transferred to the national organization. The relics in our museum are not only efficiently used through permanent or special exhibitions, but are also actively utilized to be lent or reproduced in order to allow external researchers/institutes to participate in the research. We introduce our relics through local media on a regular basis and operate life-long education programs which help other people get interested in our local cultural assets with supports from relevant departments in local government. In addition, we conduct analysis and research on natural relics including human and animal remains which have been excavated and stored in collaboration with domestic and international research institutes. We are discussing with relevant organizations to exhibit research materials and to share better achievements.
