장애자녀의 보완․대체의사소통(AAC) 활용에 대한 부모의 인식 및 지원요구에 관한 사례연구

국문 초록

이 연구는 음성언어를 통한 의사소통의 어려움을 가지고 있는 자녀를 양육하는 어머니들이 AAC에 대해 인식하는 정도와 AAC를 적극적으로 활용하여 의사소통을 하도록 하는데 필요로 하는 지원의 요구를 알아보는 것을 목적으로 실시되었다. 연구의 목적을 위하여 의사소통의 어려움을 가지고 있으나 AAC를 활용하고 있지 않는 장애아의 어머니 2명을 대상으로 개별 심층 면담을 실시한 결과 연구주제와 관련된 7개의 하위 주제가 도출되었다. 연구결과에 의하면 연구에 참여한 어머니들은 AAC에 대해 구체적인 정보를 알지 못하거나 다소 부정적으로 인식하고 있었으며, 자녀가 AAC를 적극적으로 활용하기 위해서는 가족들에게 필요한 구체적인 관련 서비스를 지금보다 더욱 강화해야 할 것을 요구했다. 이와 관련하여 향후 정책적인 실행의 필요성에 대해 논의했다

영문 초록

This paper was to find out how the mothers raising their children having difficulties in communication by oral language recognize AAC(Augmentative and Alternative Communication) and to also find out what those family members request for their children to communicate actively through AAC. For the purpose of this study, individual in-depth interviews were conducted on two mothers of children having difficulty in communication but not using AAC. Seven categories related to the research subject were drawn through qualitative analysis. The study showed that the mothers participated in the research did not have specific information on AAC and had some negative awareness. They suggested that more specific information on AAC and related services that can support the roles of family members including parents are needed for their children to use AAC actively. It is suggested that specific service programs for the children having difficulties in communication by oral language but not applying AAC effectively and for their family members need to be developed.
