학령기 인공와우착용 아동의 음운인식과 음운기억 특성에 관한 연구

국문 초록

본 연구에서는 인공와우착용 아동 15명과 동일한 생활연령 대의 건청 아동 15명을 대상으로 음운인식 능력과 음운기억 능력을 검사한 후 그 특성과 관련성을 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 인공와우착용 아동의 음운인식 수행력은 건청 아동보다 낮았고, 특히 두 그룹 간에 합성과 대치 과제의 수행력이 유의한 수준에서 차이가 났다. 음운기억 수행력도 인공와우착용 아동이 건청 아동보다 수행력이 낮았으며, 음절길이가 증가할수록 비단어 따라말하기의 정확도가 감소하였다. 결론적으로 인공와우착용 아동은 대치 과제에서 가장 어려움을 보였고, 음운기억 과제에서도 낮은 수행력을 나타내었으므로 음운인식과 음운기억 간에 관련성을 어느 정도 확인할 수 있었다. 추후 인공와우착용 아동의 교육이나 재활 프로그램을 계획할 때는 음운인식뿐만 아니라, 음운기억 특히 작업기억이나 장기기억을 활성화시킬 수 있는 프로그램을 함께 고려하는 것이 더욱 효과적일 것으로 사료된다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study were to measure the phonological awareness and memory abilities and to identify their relevance and characteristics for cochlear implants (CIs) and 15 children with normal hearing (NH). The results of this study showed that the performances of phonological awareness of children with CIs was lower than those of children with NH, and especially the performances of synthesis and substitution tasks were significantly different in two groups. The phonological memory abilities were also lower in children with CIs and as the length of the syllable increases the accuracy of nonword repetition task decreased. In conclusion, children with CIs showed the greatest difficulty in substitutional task and low performance in phonological memory task, so we confirmed to some extent the relationship between phonological awareness and memory. When planning the rehabilitation program of children with CIs, it would be more effective to consider not only phonological awareness but also phonological memory.
