만 4세 유아의 아버지가 지각하는 부모역할지능, 훈육방식이 자녀의 문제행동에 미치는 영향

국문 초록

본 연구는 만 4세 유아의 아버지가 지각하는 부모역할지능, 훈육방식과 자녀의 문제행동과의 관계를 분석하는 데 목적이 있다. D시의 유치원과 어린이집에 다니는 만 4세 유아를 둔 아버지를 대상으로 자기 보고식 설문 조사를 진행하였으며, 총 210부에 대해 자료를 평균, 표준편차의 기술통계, Pearson의 적률상관관계, 단계적 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 그 결과로는 첫째, 만 4세 유아의 아버지가 지각하는 부모역할지능은 높은 편이었으며, 강압적 체벌이나 방임 보다는 논리적 설명의 훈육방식이 높게 나타났고, 가장 높게 인식된 문제행동은 과잉행동-산만이었다. 또한 아버지의 부모역할지능 전체, 발달자극역할, 양육역할, 관리역할은 문제행동과 부정적인 상관관계를 나타내었다. 아버지의 강압적 체벌, 방임은 자녀의 문제행동과 긍정적인 상관관계를 보인 반면에, 논리적 설명은 부정적 상관성을 나타내었다. 둘째, 자녀의 적대적-공격행동에 강압적 체벌, 방임, 양육역할이 예측 변인으로 나타났고, 걱정-불안 문제행동에는 방임과 강압적 체벌이 예측 변인이었다. 과잉행동-산만행동은 강압적 체벌과 방임이 유의미한 예측 변인이었다. 이 결과를 토대로 아버지의 부모역할 역량 강화, 긍정적 훈육방식을 위한 체계적인 아버지 교육의 필요성을 논의하였다.

영문 초록

This study sought to investigate the effects of fathers’parental intelligence and discipline styles on their four-year-old children’s problem behaviors. For this study, 210 fathers completed self-reported questionnaires. Descriptive statistics and stepwise regression analyses were conducted. The study results showed that, first, parental intelligence was high on average. Also the means of fathers’forceful punishment and neglect were relatively lower than those of reasonable explanation. Children’s hyperactivity-distraction showed the highest mean among children’ s problem behaviors. Additionally, there were relatively high positive correlations between parental intelligence, and its sub-scales, nurturing role, care-giving role, and management role and children’s problem behaviors. Also, fathers’forceful punishment, neglect(discipline style) had positive correlations with all types of children’s problem behaviors. However, reasonable explanation had the negative correlation with children’s problem behaviors. Second, forceful punishment, neglect, and care-giving role were significant variables on hostile-Attack behavior. Also, forceful punishment and neglect appeared to have a significant impact on worry-anxiety and hyperactivity-distraction. Based on these results, implications to reduce children’s problem behaviors in relation to parental intelligence and discipline were discussed.
