보육교사의 실존 역량 조사: 학력과 직무만족 수준을 중심으로

국문 초록

본 연구는 보육교사의 학력과 직무만족 수준을 중심으로 실존 역량을 분석하여 보육교사 질 제고의 기초를 마련하는 데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 보육교사들의 실존 역량 경향성과 관계를 파악하고, 이들의 학력과 직무만족 수준에 따른 실존 역량 차이를 알아보았다. 연구 대상은 서울, 경기 등 수도권 지역의 어린이집에 근무하고 있는 교사 626명으로 2018년 1월 13일부터 28일까지 설문지(K-CCCA: Korea-Collegiate Core Competencies Assessment)를 배포하여 조사하였고 SPSS 22.0을 활용하여 기술통계, 다변량분석(MANOVA), Scheffé, Pearson 상관분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 보육교사의 실존 역량 평균점수를 기초로 경향성을 살펴본 결과 의사소통 역량, 윤리행동 역량, 지식탐구 역량의 순서로 높았으며, 창의·융합적 사고 역량, 글로컬 시민 역량, 진로개발 및 자기관리 역량 순서로 낮았다. 둘째, 보육교사의 실존 역량 하위 요소 간에는 모두 유의미한 정적 상관관계가 나타났다. 의사소통 역량은 윤리행동 역량과 높은 정적 상관관계를 나타내었고, 진로개발 및 자기관리 역량은 글로컬 시민의식 역량과 높은 정적 상관관계가 나타났으며, 지식탐구 역량은 창의·융합적 사고 역량과 높은 정적 상관관계를 나타내었다. 셋째, 보육교사의 학력이 높을수록 실존 역량의 전체 점수 및 하위 요소, 즉 진로개발 및 자기관리 역량, 지식탐구 역량, 창의·융합적 사고 역량, 글로컬 시민 역량, 윤리행동 역량 모두에서 높게 나타났다. 그러나 직무만족 수준에 따라서는 실존 역량의 전체 점수 및 지식탐구 역량, 의사소통 역량, 윤리행동 역량에서만 유의미한 차이가 나타났다. 본 연구결과는 교직 역량이 아닌, 한 인간으로서 사회에 기능적으로 적응할 수 있는지를 측정하는 실존 역량으로 보육현장 질 제고의 새로운 접근을 시도했다는 점에서 의의를 갖는다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to analyze the existence competence of child care teachers and to lay the foundation for the quality of child care teachers. To do this, we analyzed the tendency of existence competence of child care teachers and analyzed the relationship of their academic ability and job satisfaction level. The participants of this study were 626 teachers working at day care centers in Seoul and Gyeonggi area. The K-CCCA(Korea-Collegiate Core Competencies Assessment) questionnaires were distributed from January 13 to 28, 2018, and SPSS 22.0 was used for descriptive statistics, MANOVA, Scheffé and Pearson correlation. The results were as follows: First, communication competence, ethical behavioral capacity, and knowledge inquiry competency were higher, however, creativity and fusion competence, local civic competence, career development and self-manage were lower is based on the child care teacher’s existence competency average score. Second, there was a statistically significant positive correlation between the child care teachers’existential competency sub-variables. The communication competence was high positive correlation with ethical behavioral competence, career development and self-manage competence was high positive correlation with local civic competence, knowledge inquiry competency was high positive correlation with creativity and fusion competence. Third, the higher the academic ability of child care teachers, the higher the overall score of existence competence and sub-variables of competencies(career competence, knowledge inquiry competence, creative and convergent thinking competence, local competence and ethical behavior competence). However, existence competence according to job satisfaction level showed significant difference only in total existence competence, knowledge exploration competence, communication competence and ethical behavior competence. The results of this study have implication in that they attempted a new approach to improve the quality of the child care center by measuring the existential competency to measure whether or not they can adapt to society as a functional human rather than a teaching capacity.
