봉사-학습을 통한 예비유아교사의 유아다문화교육 인식과 요구도 조사

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 봉사-학습을 통한 다문화교육 역량 강화를 위한 프로그램이 예비유아교사들의 다문화교육에 대한 인식, 신념, 효능감에 어떤 영향을 미치는지 조사하고, 봉사-학습 후 유아다문화교육에 대한 인식 및 요구도를 알아보는 것이다. 자료수집은 전남 지역에 소재한 4년제 대학 유아교육학과에서 유아다문화교육을 수강하면서 봉사-학습에 참가한 15명의 예비유아교사들의 질문지와 면담을 통해 자료를 수집하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 유아다문화교육 프로그램에 참여한 예비유아교사들의 다문화 인식, 다문화 교육신념과 교수효능감은 봉사-학습 전보다 봉사-학습 후에 더 높아졌으며, 봉사-학습에 참여했던 집단이 참여하지 않았던 집단보다 다문화 인식, 다문화 교육신념, 다문화 교수효능감이 유의미하게 높아진 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 봉사-학습에 참여한 예비유아교사들의 봉사-학습에 대한 인식, 요구도를 분석한 결과, 예비유아교사들은 봉사-학습을 통해 다문화가정 유아에 대한 부정적 편견을 바로 잡고 다문화가정 유아와 직접적으로 상호작용 기회를 갖게 되어 필요하다고 답했다. 학습자로서 예비유아교사들은 담임교사의 수업방법이나 교사의 역할모델링을 학습할 수 있어서 유아다문화교육 역량 강화를 위해 봉사-학습이 필요하다고 답했다. 그러나 봉사-학습을 더 지속하기 위해 대학은 다양한 다문화교육을 위해 봉사기관 확대와 이동할 차량 지원, 유아교육기관의 다문화가정 유아에 대한 정보제공과 명확한 봉사자의 역할제시 등 상호 호혜적 지원이 필요하다고 답했다.

영문 초록

The study aims to examine the effects of pre-service early childhood teachers on the multicultural awareness, multicultural education beliefs and multicultural teaching efficacy of multicultural education through service-learning programs, and to examine the their perceptions for developing the better service-learning program. The data were collected through questionnaires of 15 students and in-depth interviews of pre-service teachers who took multicultural education course and who participated in service-learning. The results showed that the multicultural awareness, multicultural education beliefs and multicultural teaching efficacy of pre-service early childhood teachers who were participated in service-learning were significantly higher than those who were not participated in. And they were higher after the service-learning than before. Second, as a result of analyzing the perception and needs of pre-service teachers who participated in service-learning, pre-service teachers had the opportunity to interact directly with multicultural children and correct negative prejudice against them. The results of this study showed that, as a learner, pre-service teachers need service-learning to strengthen the competence of early childhood multicultural education because they can learn the teaching methods of teachers who role modeling can be their. However, in order to continue the service-learning, universities should provide mutually beneficial supports such as expanding various multicultural education institutions and providing vehicles to move, and child care center should provide information about multicultural children and volunteer work.
