예비유아교사의 교사 상상력에 대한 이해 탐구: 상상력 함양을 위한 교육과정 개선을 중심으로

국문 초록

본 연구는 교사 상상력에 대한 이해를 파악하고자 예비유아교사 16명을 대상으로 심층면접을 실시하였으며, 교사 상상력의 개념과 상상력 함양을 위한 교육경험에 관한 이야기를 들어보았다. 수집한 자료를 분석한 결과 첫째, 교사 상상력이란 기존의 것을 변형하여 새로운 지식의 형태로 생산해 내는 과정에 관여하는 것이라고 했다. 이러한 개념은 예비유아교사의 교사관에 그대로 적용되어 상상력을 유아교사가 갖추어야 할 기본적인 능력으로 이해하고 있었다. 둘째, 예비유아교사는 교사 상상력이 교육을 통해 자극하고 확장할 수 있는 능력인데 정작 자신들은 상상력과 관련한 교육을 받고 있지 못하다고 인식하였다. 그러면서 교사 상상력을 함양하기 위해서는 예비유아교사들이 학습의 주도권을 가지는 방식으로 교육 개선이 이루어져야 한다고 제안하였다. 이러한 연구결과는 유아교육 현장에서 교사 상상력이 수업의 시작과 끝을 구성한다는 사실을 감안할 때 현재의 예비유아교사의 교육과정이 그들의 상상력을 풍부하게 하는 것이어야 함을 시사하고 있다. 또한 예비유아교사의 교사 상상력 함양을 위해서는 학습자로서 예비교사가 중심 이 되는 교육이 실현되어야 함을 시사하고 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to explore how pre-service early childhood teachers understand imagination. This study conducted in-depth interviews with 16 pre-service early childhood teachers on the concept of imagination and educational practices to foster imagination. The results of the analysis of the collected data are as follows. First, imagination is involved in producing new forms of knowledge by modifying existing ones. And the pre-service early childhood teachers understood the imagination as a basic skill the early childhood teachers should have because imagination is needed in the education plan. Second, the pre-service early childhood teachers recognized that imagination was the ability to stimulate and expand through education, but they were not receiving education related to imagination. They suggested that in order to foster imagination, education improvements should be made in a way that pre-service early childhood teachers have the initiative in learning. These findings suggest that the current education of preservice early childhood teachers should enrich their imagination, given the importance of the teacher’s imagination in both the planning and the process on implementation of class. It also suggests that in order to foster the imagination of pre-service early childhood teachers, learnercentered education should be realized.
