국문 초록

본 연구는 유아기 자녀를 둔 어머니의 양육스트레스와 정서조절곤란이 정서관련 양육행동(자녀의 부정정서 표현에 대한 반응)에 미치는 영향력을 알아보고 정서조절곤란이 양육스트레스와 자녀의 부정정서 표현에 대한 반응과의 관계에서 매개 역할을 하는지 알아보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 만 3∼6세 자녀를 둔 만 21~49세 어머니 222명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. SPSS 24를 사용하여 상관분석을 실시하였고 어머니의 양육스트레스와 자녀의 부정정서 표현에 대한 반응과의 관계에서 정서조절곤란이 매개하는지 살펴보기 위해 다중 회귀를 통하여 매개효과 분석 및 Sobel test를 실시하였다. 본 연구의 주요 결과를 요약하면, 어머니의 양육스트레스는 자녀의 부정정서 표현에 대한 반응 중 지지적 반응에 부적으로 비지지적 반응에 정적으로 영향을 미쳤다. 정서조절곤란은 자녀의 부정정서 표현에 대한 반응 중 지지적 반응에 부적으로 비지지적 반응에 정적으로 영향을 미쳤다. 마지막으로, 양육스트레스와 자녀의 부정적 표현에 대한 반응(지지적 반응, 비지지적 반응) 간의 관계에서 정서조절곤란이 부분매개 하였다. 본 연구는 영․유아기 어머니들의 스트레스와 정서조절의 곤란, 정서관련 양육행동(자녀의 부정정서 표현에 대한 반응)의 관계를 파악하고 정서조절곤란의 부분매개 경로를 확인하며 연구의 시사점과 한계점, 그리고 후속연구에 대한 제언 등을 논의에 제시하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of mothers’ parenting stress and the difficulties in emotion regulation on mothers’ response to children’s negative emotion expression and to find out whether the difficulties in emotion regulation play a role as a mediator between parenting stress and mothers’ response to children’s negative emotion expression. The participants were 222 mothers between the ages of 21 to 49 with children between the ages of 3-6. The mothers completed three questionnaires, which were the Korean version of the Parenting Stress Index-short Form (K-PSI-SF), the Difficulties in Emotion Regulation Scale (K-DERS) and Coping with Children’s Negative Emotions Scale (CCNES). Data were analyzed by using Cronbach alpha, correlation, regression analysis and the Baron & Kenny(1986) mediating effect validation procedure. The results indicate that the difficulties in emotion regulation partially mediated the relationship between parenting stress and the mothers’ responses to children’s negative emotion expression. This study helped to provide a better understanding of the influence process of parenting stress on the mothers’ supportive and non-supportive response to children’s negative emotion expression by the mediating effects of the difficulties in emotion regulation. Other related implications of these findings and suggestions for future research are also discussed.
