국문 초록

본 연구는 학부모의 자녀교육참여 관련 변인을 탐색한 것으로, 중학교 1학년 자녀를 둔 강원도 지역 학부모 683명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 연구목적의 달성을 위해 학부모 관련 변인을 사회경제적 변인군(부모의 학력, 가구소득 수준)과 심리적 변인군(학부모효능감, 자녀양육 스트레스, 자녀 학교교육에 대한 만족도)으로 구분하여 위계적 회귀분석을 실시하였고, 심리적 변인들 간 구조적 관계와 학부모효능감의 매개효과를 검증하는 구조방정식 모형 분석을 실시하였다. 연구 결과, 첫째, 학부모의 심리적 변인군이 사회경제적 변인군보다 자녀교육참여에 대하여 더 높은 설명효과를 지니고 있음이 나타났다. 둘째, 양육 스트레스는 학부모효능감과 가정에서의 자녀교육참여, 학교에서의 자녀교육참여와의 관계에서 매개변인의 역할을 하고 있었다. 위의 결과를 바탕으로 학부모의 자녀학습참여에 있어 학부모의 심리적 변인이 중요함을 논의하였으며, 특히 수준 높은 자녀교육참여를 이끌어내기 위해 학부모효능감과 학교에 대한 만족감을 향상시키고 부모의 양육 스트레스를 낮출 수 있는 다방면의 지원이 필요함을 제안하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to explore predictors of parents’ involvement in children s education(PI). The sample of this study was 683 parents in Gangwon Province with first-grade children in middle school. Parents’socioeconomic variables (parents academic attainment and family income) and psychological variables (parental efficacy, satisfaction with child s school, and parental stress) were measured and a hierarchical regression analyses were used to estimate predictions of two variable groups (SES and psychological variables) on PI. In addition, structural equation modeling was applied to estimate the structural relationships between psychological variables with PI. The psychological variable group had a greater prediction on the PI than the socioeconomic variable group. Structural equation modeling, the goodness of fit of the modified model was satisfied with criteria of SRMR, GFI, AGFI, NFI, TLI, and CFI. Parental stress had the mediate effect in the relationship between parental efficacy and both home-based and school-based involvement. However the mediate effect was not found in the relationship between satisfaction with child s school and PI. Those findings imply that psychological variables are more important variables to predict the parents’ involvement in children s education and suggest that a variety of supports are required to be provided to promote the parental efficacy and satisfaction with child s school and reduce the parental stress for parents involvement in children s education as well.
