중학생의 학습무동기에 따른 학습태도, 학교생활적응 및 학업성적에 대한 효과

국문 초록

한국교육종단연구2005의 2006년 자료인 전국 6,472명의 중2학생들의 검사자료를 기반으로 무동기가 학습의 과정에서 작용하는 변인들과 학습의 결과 변인들에 대해 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. t검증 결과 무동기집단은 동기집단에 비하여 더 낮은 학업자아개념과 더 낮은 접근목표지향성, 더 소극적인 수업태도, 더 부적응적 학습행동과 더 낮은 인지적 행동적 학습전략 사용 등 성취 관련 학습과정 태도요인들에서 부적응성이 상대적으로 높게 나타났으며, 학업성취 면에서도 현저하게 낮은 수준을 보였다. 또한 무동기집단은 사회자아개념, 대교사관계, 교우관계 등 적응 관련 태도요인들 및 학교생활적응정도에서도 부정적인 특성을 보였다. 무동기-학습과정 요인-학습결과 요인의 구조방정식모형 분석 결과, 무동기는 학교생활적응에 대해서는 상당한 직접 효과를 보인 반면(학습과정 요인들을 통한 간접효과도 유의하긴 하였지만), 학업성취에 대해서는 학업자아개념과 수업행동 및 학습전략 등 학습과정 요인들의 매개작용을 통하여 미치는 영향이 상당히 큰 것으로 나타났다.

영문 초록

Data drawn from 6,472 8th grade students sampled by Korean Education Longitudinal Study 2005 was analysed to compare the levels of the achievement related variables and school adaptation variables between amotivated group and motivated group. The t tests showed that amotivated students have significantly lower levels of academic self-concept, approach objective orientations, learning attitudes, productive classroom activities, efficient learning strategies and school achievement than the motivated. And they were found to have lower social self-concept and significantly lower levels of intimacy in terms of relations to teachers and peers and of school satisfaction and school adaptation behaviors. And the subsequent structural equation model analyses proved that amotivation influences achievement through learning process related variables like academic self-concept, mal-adaptive classroom behaviors and learning strategies to a substantial degree, while much amount of amotivation‘s effects on school adaptation is direct even though the indirect effects of the learning process related variables like social self-concept and teacher and peer relations are significant.
