고등교육의 생애역량 모형 탐색과 개선 방안

국문 초록

이 연구는 고등교육단계에서 육성해야 할 사회적 자본을 추출하기 위하여 사회적 자본의 개념을 사회 속의 개인과 집단의 협력을 촉진시키는 사회적 관계망, 호혜성의 규범, 사회적 신뢰 등의 총체라고 조작적으로 정의하였다. 그리고 생애역량이란 개인이 事象에 관하여 일생 동안 갖추어야 할 지식, 기술, 태도의 총체로 규정하였고, 기초문해력, 핵심능력(key skills), 시민의식, 직업특수능력 등 네 가지를 생애역량의 구성요소로 보았다. 고등교육단계에서 형성되어야 할 생애역량의 구성요소들 중 사회적 자본에 해당되는 요소들로서 의사소통능력, 지도력, 협동능력, 시민의식 등을 추출하였다. 마지막으로, 고등교육에서 사회적 자본과 밀접히 관련된 생애역량을 형성하기 위하여 체험학습 강화(務實力行), ‘함께하기 위한 학습’과 ‘존재하기 위한 학습’의 復權, 교양교육의 활성화를 통한 사회의 인간화 실현 등 세 가지를 제시하였다.

영문 초록

The purposes of this study were to explore the model of life competencies which are related to social capital, and to suggest the measures for improving higher education in order to cultivate students social capital. This study defined the social capital by the whole of social networks, a norm of reciprocity, and social trust which foster mutual cooperation between individuals and groups in the society. Life competencies are defined as the whole of knowledges, skills, and attitude which are composed of basic literacy, key skills, a civic ethics, and ability related to jobs that an individual should prepare. The components of life competencies, which have to be educated at the stage of higher education, are communication skills, leadership, cooperative spirit, a civic ethics which are related to the social capital. Finally, in order to educate students for life competencies related to the social capital, this study suggests that higher education institutions have to focus student education on learning by direct experience and practice, learning to live together and learning to be, and activating liberal arts education for humanizing our society.
