성매매피해 청소년을 위한 연극치료 사례 고찰

국문 초록

본 연구는 정서적인 치료가 시급한 성매매 피해 여자 청소년을 대상으로 관계패턴과 욕구의 이득을 분석하는 작업 방식이 참여자의 자기 인식과 사회적응에 어떠한 변화를 주는지 알아보고 대상에 맞춘 특화된 프로그램으로서의 효과성을 검증하는데 목적이 있다. 연구 대상은 서울시에 있는 성매매 피해 청소년 보호시설의 여자 청소년 4명을 대상으로 2017년 10월 14일 -2017년 12월 16일까지 매주 1회 2시간씩 총 12회기 동안 진행하였다. 성매매 피해 청소년은 단순하게 돈을 벌고자 하는 욕구와 더불어 지나치게 감각적이면서도 일차원적인 방식으로 대응하는 경향이 강하고 피해자 역할에 매몰되어 있어 자기 이해와 인식의 어려움이 따랐다. 성적 학대와 폭력, 성매매에 오랫동안 노출될수록 심리, 신체적 질환, 정신적인 고통을 겪고 있으며, 성적 수치심과 사회적 낙인이 두려워 자신의 문제를 숨기고 회피할수록 순간의 충동과 욕구를 누르지 못하고 같은 문제행동을 반복하였다. 이는 버려짐의 상처로 인한 결핍, 조절되지 않는 파괴적 충동에 의한 것으로 성매매 재유입 방지를 위해서 안전한 돌봄, 정서적인 지원과 함께 성매매 피해 청소년 스스로의 노력과 주체성을 확립하는 것이 무엇보다 중요하였다. 이를 위해 무의식적 행동 패턴의 이해를 돕는 응용심리학 NLP의 ‘이득론’과 관계중독 패턴을 연계하였고, 손쉬운 이득을 포기하고 자신의 욕구를 건강한 방법으로 실현해보는 과정을 담은 욕구중심 연극치료 프로그램을 구성하였다. 욕구중심 연극치료 작업은 성매매 피해 청소년에게 몸의 감각과 감정을 새롭게 인식하는 방법을 제공하며 억눌렸던 감정을 드러내고 상처와 대면할 뿐 아니라, 극적 투사를 통해 표면적으로 드러난 감정과 행동이면에 숨겨진 삶의 욕구를 객관적으로 바라볼 수 있도록 도왔다. 또한 갈등을 유발하는 역할과 만나 파괴적 충동을 재구성하고 이를 해결해 나가는 과정을 통해 자신 안에 문제 행동을 끊어낼 수 있는 힘이 있음을 확인하는 계기가 되었다. 욕구 중심 연극치료는 부정적 관계 패턴에 사로 잡혀 자신의 문제를 회피하는 참여자에게 보다 분명한 자기 이해와 통찰의 기회를 제공하였다. 욕구 중심 연극치료 과정의 내용을 담은 감성 연극 공연은 그동안 억눌렸던 감정을 드러내고 자신의 억압된 감정과 아픔을 표출하는 동시에 사회 안에서 수용됨을 경험하여 삶을 새롭게 시작하는 통과의례로 기능하였다. 본 연구는 성매매피해 여자 청소년들의 왜곡된 자아상 회복을 돕고, 성매매피해 청소년의 정서 안정을 도모할 수 있는 특화 모델로서의 가능성을 제시했다는 점에서 그 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of the method of analyzing the relationship patterns and benefits of desire among female juvenile prostitution victims, who are in urgent need of emotional treatment, on their self-awareness and social adaptation and verify the effectiveness of a method as a program specialized for the participants. The participants were 4 female juvenile prostitution victims in a protection facility for juvenile prostitution victims in Seoul, and the study was conducted from October 14, 2017 to December 16, 2017 over 12 weekly sessions of 2 hours each. Juvenile prostitution victims had the desire to earn money and tended to respond excessively in a sensory and one-dimensional way, and it was difficult for them to develop self-understanding and self-awareness as they were immersed in their role as victim. The longer they were exposed to sexual abuse, violence, and prostitution, the more psychological, physical, and emotional difficulties they experienced. They hid and avoided their own problem because of sexual humiliation and the fear of social stigma and repeated the same problematic behavior without controlling their impulse and desire. This was because of deficiency due to wounds of abandonment and uncontrollable destructive impulse, and therefore, safe caring, emotional support, self-effort and autonomy for adolescents were the most important in preventing recurrence of prostitution. Thus, “Benefit Theory” of applied NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming), which helps in understanding unconscious behavioral patterns and relationship addiction patterns, was used and we composed a desire-centered drama therapy program that included a process of renouncing easy profit and fulfilling desire in a healthy way. The desire-centered drama therapy provided adolescents with a new way of realizing their physical sensations and feelings, which helped them not only to express the suppressed feelings and face their emotional injuries, but also to have objective perspectives towards desires in life that underlie feelings and behaviors through dramatic projection. Moreover, by rearranging destructive desire and solving the problem when they faced the role that caused conflicts, adolescents had an opportunity to confirm that they have the strength to stop their problematic behaviors. The desire-centered drama therapy provided participants, who avoided their problems because of their negative relationship pattern, with an opportunity to acquire self-understanding and insights more clearly. The emotional drama that included the contents of desire-centered drama therapy process worked as a rite of passage to newly start their lives by expressing suppressed feelings and sufferings, as well as experiencing acceptance in the society. This study has significance in that it suggests the possibility of a specialized model to help female juvenile prostitution victims recover their distorted self-image and support their emotional stability.
