신문 보도 기사의 언어 표현 분석

국문 초록

이 연구는 2016년 ‘신공항 건설 계획 연구 용역 결과’ 발표 신문 보도 기사의 언어 표현을 분석한 연구이다. 경향신문과 한겨레신문은 부정적인 관점에서 사건을 보도하였고, 조선일보와 중앙일보는 긍정적인 관점에서 보도한 것으로 분석된다. 구체적으로 헤드라인과 리드에서 경향신문과 한겨레신문은 ‘신공항 건설 계획 연구 용역 결과 발표’를 대통령이 민심을 두 쪽 낸 사건으로 보고 ‘백지화’ 프레임으로 보도한다. 조선일보와 중앙일보는 경제성을 추구하는 긍정적인 사건으로 보고 ‘김해공항 확장’을 제3의 대안 프레임으로 보도한다. 그런데 기사의 본문에서는 각 신문사마다 조금씩 차이가 있다. 경향신문은 주관적인 어휘를 적극적으로 사용하며, 피동 표현과 주체가 생략된 표현을 주로 사용하지만, 한겨레신문은 ‘백지화’로 인한 ‘지역 갈등’의 책임을 ‘이명박 정부’와 ‘박근혜 정부’에 있다는 것을 능동적인 어휘로 표현한다. 조선일보와 중앙일보는 본문이 ‘신공항 건설 계획 연구 용역 결과’ 발표 내용을 인용하는 것은 비슷하지만, 중앙일보는 전문가 인터뷰를 적극 활용하여 ‘김해공항 확장’이 매우 정당한 것으로 보도한다.

영문 초록

This paper analyses linguistic expressions in newspaper headings on ‘An Announcement of the Research Findings of A New Airport Construction Plan’ in 2016. As online journalism prevails these days, specific groups’ selfish perspectives are made news. As a result, it is natural for existing newspapers report news reflecting their own interest and their enthusiastic readers’ views. Thus, articles of four newspapers concerning ‘An Announcement of the Research Findings of A New Airport Construction Plan’ naturally revealed different viewpoints. The study can be summarized as follows: First, the headlines of the four newspapers are divided into two types. The Kyunghyang Shinmun and the Hankyoreh show subjective attitudes towards the announcement as they regard it as an event tearing apart or disrupting the public sentiment since then president did not deal the issue well for over 5 or 10 years. The Chosunilbo and the JoongAng Ilbo take neutral attitudes, as these media grasp that the plan can save around 6 trillion won in pursuit of economic feasibility. Second, the leads in the given newspapers also are classified into two categories. The Kyunghyang Shinmun and the Hankyoreh induce the residents of neighboring regions to have negative views of the president and political circles by making a ‘nullifying’ frame regarding the construction plan of ‘a new airport in the southeastern region of Korea.’ The Chosunilbo and the JoongAng Ilbo appear to make people in Busan and Daegu recognize that a new airport will be built on a neutral site by suggesting ‘’an expansion of Gimhae Airport’ as a third alternative. Third, the article texts of four newspapers express each media’s perspective. The Kyunghyang Shinmun uses subjective words aggressively in its article and mainly utilized passive voice and subject-omitted expressions in order to avoid revealing clear subjects. The Chosunilbo chiefly uses objective vocabulary as predicative by citing some contents from the announcement. While the JoongAng Ilbo also writes mostly neutral expressions by using objective words as predicative, it leads the public to see ‘the expansion of Gimhae Airport’ positively. The Hankyoreh delivers the case negatively to the readership by using direct directive expressions of the government responsibility.
