아동미술치료사의 치료과정 경험연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 아동을 대상으로 미술치료를 하는 아동미술치료사들의 경험을 알아보는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위 하여 질적 연구 방법 중 포커스 그룹 인터뷰 방식을 사용하였다. 연구 참여자는 아동미술치료사로 근무하고 있 는 12명의 미술치료사를 각각 6명씩 2개의 포커스 그룹 인터뷰를 진행하였고, 한 그룹 당 2--3시간의 인터뷰시 간이 소요되었다. 진행과정은 Krueger와 Casey(2000)가 제시한 질문방식을 수정하여 도입 질문, 소개 질문, 주 요 질문, 마무리 질문의 4가지 종류로 정하여 개방형 질문방식으로 진행하였다. Morgan과 Scannell (1998)이 제 시한 분석 방법을 사용하여 분석하였다.이러한 과정의 결과로 본 연구는 아동미술치료사로서의 치료과정에서의 경험에서는 6개의 주제, 19개의 범주, 55개의 개념이 도출되었다. 치료과정에서 일어나는 경험으로 아동미술치료사가 된 동기로는 아동미술치료사로써 명확한 동기를 가진 경 우와 아동을 미술치료한다는 구체적 동기 없이 시작된 것으로 구분되었으며, 이렇게 시작된 미술치료에서 아동 미술치료사는 부모의 개입으로 좌절을 겪고, 치료사 개인적 문제, 치료사의 전문성 및 임상 경험부족으로 인한 내적 갈등이 나타났다. 이러한 갈등에서 유능한 치료사로써의 성숙의 필요성을 깨닫고, 교육을 통한 치료사의 변화의 계기를 마련하고 변화를 모색하여 갈등을 극복하였다. 이러한 과정을 통해 아동미술치료를 하면서 또다 른 만족감이나 자부심을 느낀 것으로 나타났다.

영문 초록

This study aimed to know what child art therapists experience while they are in a session with their clients. A focus interview, one of the qualitative research methods was conducted for this study. The study participants were 12 art therapists specializing in children. They were divided into two groups of 6. Each group was given about 2 or 3 hour long interview. The interview employed a question asking method modified from the question asking method presented by Kruger and Casey (2000). The interview ran with open ended questions moving in the order of starting question, introduction question, main questions, and ending questions. The interview was analyzed based on the method presented by Morgan and Scannell(1998). This study was presented into experiences through therapy sessions. Experiences through therapy sessions consisted of 6 themes, 19 categories, and 55 concepts. The experience through therapy sessions which addressed the following aspects: starting the job with specific motivation and without specific motivation, setback due to parents' intervention at the time of therapy being structured, personal problems of the therapist, lack of the therapist's professional ability and clinical experience, and inner conflicts occurring due to the relationship with the client in the session. Facing this kind of conflicts, the therapist was able to overcome the conflicts realizing that he or she needed to be more mature and making efforts to change through educational training and the review of the session. The therapist became to feel satisfaction or pride going through this kind of process.
