집단미술치료프로그램이 학습부진아의 자기존중감과 학습동기에 미치는 효과

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 학습부진아를 대상으로 실시한 집단미술치료프로그램이 아동들의 자기존중감과 학습동기 향상에 미치는 효과를 알아보려는데 있다. 연구의 대상은 D초등학교에서 선정된 학습부진아 16명 중 무선화의 원칙에 따라 학습부진아 8명을 실험집단으로 정하고, 나머지 8명을 통제집단으로 하였다. 검사도구는 자기존중감 검사, 학습동기 검사와 질적 분석으로 평가하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS/PC+로 통계 처리하였으며 자기존중감과 학습동기 향상 효과를 알아보기 위하여 사전-사후 검사를 실시해서 측정 결과의 평균과 표준편차를 산출하고, 그 유의미한 정도를 알아보기 위하여 t검증을 실시하였다. 연구 결과를 통하여 얻어진 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 집단미술치료 프로그램이 학습부진아의 자기존중감 향상에는 매우 긍정적 의미가 있었다. 특히, 학교적 자기존중감은 유의미한 차이가 나타났으며 자기존중감 전체로 보았을 때도 실험집단과 통제집단간에도 유의미한 차이가 나타났다. 따라서 집단미술치료 프로그램을 통해 자기존중감이 향상되었음을 알 수 있다. 둘째, 집단미술치료 프로그램은 학습부진아의 학습동기향상에 부분적으로 차이가 있었다. 학습동기 하위 영역 중 본질적 가치는 유의미한 차이를 보였으나, 학습동기 전체에서 실험집단의 평균이 통제집단보다 높게 나타났을 뿐 통계적으로는 유의미한 차이를 나타내지 않았다. 따라서 집단미술치료 프로그램을 적용한 실험집단이 적용하지 않은 통제집단보다 학습동기 하위 영역 중 본질적 가치에서 더 향상되었음을 알 수 있다. 셋째, 집단미술치료 프로그램과정의 탐색단계에서는 매우 말이 없고 의욕이 없었으며 자신감도 없었으나 실행단계로 접어들면서 자신감도 회복되고 자신의 소중함도 느끼며 공부에 대한 의지도 나타났다. 종결단계에서는 자신감을 갖고 더욱더 적극적으로 발표의 기회를 가지려고 하였으며, 학습활동에도 긍정적인 자세로 임하고 흥미를 가지게 되었다. 이러한 현상은 집단 미술치료 프로그램이 학습부진아의 자기존중감과 학습동기에 매우 효과적이었음을 입증한다고 할 수 있다.

영문 초록

This study was intended to show how much Group Art Therapy Program on Under Achievers affects children's Self-esteem and increase in Motivation for Learning. The subjects were divided as an experimental group, 8 and control gorup, 8. Term of conducting a Group Art Therapy program was 8 weeks and it was done two times each week with time given 90 to 150 minutes. By using SPSS/PC+, a pre and post test on self-respect and motivation for learning in an experimental and a control group was conducted, producing the result. And t-test was also used to analyze the statistical significance. The following are the conclusions to this study. First, The Group Art Therapy Program was highly meaningful in improving Elementary school Under achievers' Self-esteem. Particularly an subcategory of Self-esteem(M=5.50, p <.05), School Self-esteem was statistically significant and at the respect of whole Self-esteem, the difference(M13.37 p< .05) between the two groups was very significant. Second, The Group Art Therapy Program was highly meaningful in improving an Elementary school Under achievers' motivation for learning, basic value. In view of whole motivation for learning, the experimental group showed higher mean(M=5.13) than the control group, without showing any significant difference though. Therefore, the experimental group using the Group Art Activity showed higher improvement than the control group in the subcategory of motivation for learning, basic value. Finally, on searching stage of Group Art Therapy Program, they were taciturn, lost desire to do but they have shown self-confidence, self-respect and their will to study on the stage of practice. Group Art Activity has a great effect on Elementary school Under Achievers' Self-esteem and motivation for learning in that on the stage of termination, they were willing to participate in a presentation, having lots of interest in any kind of learning activity.
