소조 활동을 통한 등교 거부 아동의 치료 효과

국문 초록

등교 거부 아동은 유아기나 아동기 중에 어머니가 부재하였거나 수동적, 의존적 혹은 과보호적으로 아동들을 보호하였을 경우에 많이 발생한다. 또한 학교에서의 성적이나 행동은 평균 이상을 보여 주며 대책로 우울증과 같은 신경증적인 장애를 가지고 있다고 보고하고 있다(Hersov, 1960). 학교공포증이란 용어가 처음 문헌상에 등장한 것은 1941년 Johnson이 학교공포증이라는 주제로서 8명의 아동을 대상으로 정신적, 신체적 증상과 사회 변동과의 상관관계를 연구 보고한 것이었다. 그는 근심과 관련되는 정서적인 불안의 한 형태가 결석을 야기시키는 원인이라고 했다. 그리고 정신 신경증적 장애로 인한 결석과 비행에 의한 결석을 분명히 구별하여 전자를 학교공포증이라고 명명하고 이러한 공포는 어머니의 불안, 결혼 생활의 부조화, 일관성 없는 태도를 가진 부모의 가정에서 잘 일어난다고 하였다. 학교공포증에 대한 일부 학자들의 견해를 살펴보면, Ross(l972)는 학교공포를 ‘헤어짐에 적응하지 못 하는 증상’이라고 밝히고 이는 아동이 가정을 떠나는데 대한 두려움 또는 학교를 두려워하는 것 중의 하나라고 하였다.

영문 초록

This study was attempted to determine the effects of plastic activity on a pre-school child with school phobia. The child showed difficulty separating with her mother. The counselling with a focus on plastic activity took place once a week for 13 weeks. The results were as follows. The changes observed in KFD (Kinetic Family Drawing), LMT (Landscape Montage Test), and KHTP (Kinetic House Tree Person) in pre-, mid-, and post-test showed decrease in anxiety， In addition, she showed changes in behavior attending kindergarten like the following: Firstly, she was resistant to separating with her mother in that she cried when her mother dropped her off and played in front of a rabbit cage for 1 to 2 hours and then spent the rest of the day in the kindergarten office: secondly, the behavior of playing in front of the rabbit cage disappeared but she entered the kindergarten office first then went to the classroom when her mother gave her a phone call and spent the rest of the day in the kindergarten with no problem: and finally, she went to kindergarten by kindergarten bus by herself and directly went to the classroom. A follow-up after 6 months found that her school phobia did not recur. Her well-adjusted behavior continued even in her elementary school years.
