대학수업에서의 학습지원을 위한 노트필기 어플리케이션 설계와 개발

국문 초록

본 연구는 대학수업에서 이루어지는 대표적인 학습활동인 노트필기에 내재된 학습과정을 지원할 수 있는 노트 앱의 설계전략 도출과 구현을 목적으로 실시되었다. 노트필기가 내재하고 있는 학습과정 을 지원할 수 있는 노트 앱의 설계전략은 대학생들의 노트 앱 사용맥락을 토대로 한 설계전략, 앱을 통한 노트필기 수행과 구체적인 학습성과와의 연계전략, 모바일 앱의 특성을 고려한 설계전략으로 나누어 도출되었다. 이같은 설계전략은 노트작성과 비교검토, 일정관리를 통한 자기주도적 학습지원, 플래시카드를 통한 내용학습지원 등을 포함하는 메뉴들로 구체화되었으며, 프로토타입의 개발을 통 해 구현되었다. 개발된 앱의 활용도는 사용자평가를 통해 검토되었다. 사용자 평가결과 노트 앱을 활용한 실제적인 학습성과 도출을 위해서는 앱활용과 관련한 구체적인 훈련기회의 제공, 앱의 주요 기능 단순화, 모바일 기기에 부합하는 교수학습자료와의 연계를 고려할 필요가 있는 것으로 나타났 다. 본 연구를 통해 제시된 결과는 중요한 학습활동으로 간주되는 노트필기가 정보통신기술의 새로 운 요소들과 결합으로써 긍정적인 학습성과 창출에 기여할 수 있는 가능성을 시사하며, 향후 앱 활 용을 통한 다양한 측면의 학습성과와 학습과정의 변화에 대한 추가적인 연구가 수행될 필요성을 제 시한다.

영문 초록

This study aims to develop design strategies for a mobile note-taking application which is able to effectively support learning process of college students. The design strategies of the mobile note-taking application could be categorized as follows; 1) considering the context of college student and their involving instructional practice, 2) connecting note-taking and specific learning outcomes, 3) utilizing the potential of mobile application features. The design strategies were applied to develop functions and menus of the prototype note-taking application; such as note-taking comparison based on the user’s learning process(i.e., prep, in class, and review), task and time management for facilitating self-directed learning, and flash cards for supporting conceptual/factual learning. Actual use of the prototype version of note-taking application was examined through the user test participating 8 college students. Several further considerations are needed in order to maximize the potential of note-taking application that leads meaningful learning support; providing a training opportunity for application use, selecting essential functions, and increasing the development of mobile-friendly instructional materials. The result of this study suggests a new possibility of note-taking practice supported by the development of ICT that contributes to yield positive learning outcomes. At the same time, further research ought to be conducted that explore the effects of note-taking application use on the learning performance and process.
