가정배경이 중학생의 수학수업태도에 미치는 영향분석: 성장신념·교과효능감의 매개효과를 중심으로

국문 초록

본 연구에서는 경기교육종단연구 중1 패널 2~3차 데이터를 이용하여 가구소득 및 부모학 력과 같은 지위변인과 부모자녀 관계가 성장신념, 교과효능감을 매개로 중학생 자녀의 수업 태도에 어떤 영향을 미치는지 수학 교과를 중심으로 살펴보았다. 이를 위해 구조방정식모형 을 적용하여 분석하였고 주요 연구결과를 정리하면 다음과 같다. 먼저, 부모자녀 관계, 이전 수업태도, 교과효능감은 수업태도에 유의미한 직접효과를 가지고 있었다. 둘째, 가구소득 및 부모학력과 같은 지위변인과 부모자녀 관계는 이전 수업태도, 성장신념, 교과효능감을 매개 로 하여 수업태도에 간접효과를 나타내었다. 셋째, 이전 수업태도는 직접효과뿐 아니라 성장 신념 및 교과효능감을 매개로 하는 간접효과 크기가 상당한 것으로 확인되었다. 이런 결과 를 토대로 다음과 같은 시사점이 도출되었다. 취약한 가정배경의 영향력이 중학생의 수업태 도에 체계적인 방식으로 작동되고 있다는 점에서 수업태도 격차 완화를 위한 교육적 개입이 시급하다. 특히 취약계층 부모들에게 수업태도 개선을 위한 다양한 학습법 및 교육 프로그 램에 대한 접근성을 높여주고, 학교 교사를 통한 적극적인 상담과 학부모 교육도 제공해야 한다. 또 과거 부정적인 수업태도의 지속적이고 강한 영향력을 고려할 때 학생의 과거 태도 수준을 고려한 개별화된 전략을 통해 학습결손 누적을 방지해야 한다.

영문 초록

This study analyzes relationships affecting middle school students’ attitudes in mathematics classes using structural equation modeling (SEM). More specifically, the study examines how the effect of family background may be mediated by the affective characteristics of students. The results from SEM analysis were as follows. First, relationships with parents, prior in-class attitude, and self-efficacy had a significant direct effect on the subsequent in-class, learning attitudes. Second, parents’ socioeconomic status and relationships with parents had an indirect effect on students’ learning attitudes in math classes, mediated by prior in-class attitude, growth mindset, and self-efficacy. Third, both direct and indirect effects of the prior in-class attitude on students’ present attitudes in mathematics classes were significantly large. On the basis of these results, it is suggested that educators should support students from disadvantaged background to mitigate the educational gap as family background systematically influences in-class attitudes. Particularly for parents from disadvantaged socioeconomic background, active advising with teachers, educational sessions, and external consultations should be accompanied. Furthermore, considering the prolonged influence of the deficient learning attitudes, individualized educational strategies based on the attitudinal history must follow to preempt the learning gap for disadvantaged middle school students.
