영문 초록

purpose: this study is to determine possible psycho-physiological effects of preoperative information on preoperative anxiety of female aged patients before TKA, Method: This study was designed for nonequivalent control group pre・post test in quasi-experimental research. And research data were collected from Dec. 1, 2006 to Feb. 28, 2007. The 30 subjects consisted of experimental group(15 patients who were informed of TKA before operation) Results: “Experimental group informed of TKA before operation would show less preoperative state anxiety than control group not informed of TKA before operation. was rejected (t=-1.479, p=.150). “Experimental group would score lower points in the preoperative Visual Analogue Scale(VAS) than control group.” was supported (t=-3.257, p=.003). “Experimental group would show lower preoperative systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure than control group.” was rejected (systolic blood pressure : t=0.000, p=1.000, diastolic blood pressure : t=-1.035, p=.310). Conclusion: it is also expected that the findings of this study will be very useful as a clinical strategy to reduce preoperative anxiety of senior patients before total knee arthroplasty(TKA), and it will be necessary to develop better means of preoperative information delivery to comply with more characteristics and needs of senior patients.
