고른기회전형 입학생의 성취와 중도탈락가능성에 관한 연구 : J대학 사례를 중심으로

국문 초록

본 연구는 고른기회전형 입학생의 중도탈락에 영향을 미치는 요인들의 영향력을 분석하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 전라북도 J대학의 고른기회전형 입학생 716명과 타전형 716명의 평균학점, 비교과활동, 소득분위 등의 전산자료를 수집하였고, 동시에 고른기회전형 입학생 310명을 대상으로 자기주도학습능력, 입학당시 학과인식수준, 전공만족도 등을 설문조사하였다. 자료를 전산자료는 고른기회전형과 타전형 학생을 비교하였으며, 설문자료는 고른기회전형의 하위전형별 비교와 각 독립변인이 중도탈락가능에 미치는 영향을 중다회귀분석을 실시하였다. 분석한 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 고른기회전형 입학생들의 평균학점, 비교과활동, 소득분위는 타전형 입학생들에 비해 모두 낮게 나타났다. 둘째, 자기주도학습능력, 입학당시 학과 인식수준, 전공만족도가 중도탈락가능성에 미치는 영향에서 대부분의 독립변인이 중도탈락가능성에 부정적 영향을 미쳤다. 셋째, 분석한 변인들 중 입학당시 학과인식 수준이 중도탈락가능성에 가장 큰 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구의 결론으로, 고른기회전형 학생들에게 학과에 대한 현실적이고 구체적인 이해를 돕는 오리엔테이션이 필요하며, 이들의 학습부진을 지원해야하며, 각종 비교과활동에 적극적으로 참여하도록 독려해야 함을 제안하였다. 그리고 학과인식 수준, 전공만족도 등 학과와 관련된 변인들이 중도탈락가능성에 영향을 미치므로 이들에게 대학생활을 지원할 때에는 학과중심 또는 학과를 통해 지원되는 것이 중도탈락예방에 더 효과적이라는 것을 알수 있다.

영문 초록

This study analyzed the equal opportunity admission students’ college achievement and the factors which affect to their dropout possibility. For this study, GPA, extra activity scores, and the household income distribution data from 716 students of an equal opportunity admission and 716 students of other admissions were collected. And 310 equal opportunity admission students answered the survey questionnaire. All data were collected from J university at Jeonbuk province in Korea. The results of the analysis shows (1) GPA, extra activity scores, and the household income distribution of the equal opportunity admission students are lower than other admission students’. (2) A low major-perception level group has low possibility of college dropouts. (3) The self-directed ability, major-orientation, and major-satisfaction levels affect to the possibility of college dropouts negatively. The result implies as follows: first, the practical and real orientation programs to understand their major are helpful to the students of the equal opportunity admission. Second, universities need to provide the learning enhancement programs and encourage to participate to extracurricular activities. Third, these all supports should be served through their major. Because their major understanding and its satisfaction affect to the possibility of college dropout.
