국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 중학생이 지각한 가정환경, 정서지능, 음악흥미의 인과 관계를 검증하는 것이다. 연구대상은 G광역시 및 I지역의 3개 중학교에 재학 중인 1학년부터 3학년까지 406명의 학생으로, 가정환경과 정서지능 그리고 음악흥미의 검사 를 실시하였다. 중학생들의 가정환경을 생활경제수준과 부모의 학력으로 구분하였고, 정서지능과 음악흥미의 관계를 검증하기 위해 구조방정식 모형을 사용하였다. 본 연구에서 설정한 모형의 적합도는 부분매개 모형으로 CFI, TLI, RMSEA가 모두 적합한 것으로 판단되었다. 연구결과 중학생이 지각한 가정환경 중 생활경제수준은 정서지능에 직접적인 영향을 주었으나, 음악흥미에는 직접영향을 미치지 못하였다. 그리고 부모의 학력은 정서지능에 직접효과는 없었지만 음악흥미에는 직접 영향을 미쳤다. 아울러 가정환경 중 생활경제수준은 정서지능을 통하여 음악흥미에 영향을 미치는 매개효과가 있었다. 본 연구결과는 중학생의 음악흥미를 향상시키기 위하여 부모와 가정의 환경뿐 아니라 자신의 정서를 효율적으로 다룰 수 있는 전략 역시 중요함을 시사하고 있다. 또한 중학생의 정서지능을 향상시킬 수 있는 학교차원의 프로그램을 개발하고 운영함으로써 중학생에게 보다 안정된 정서표현과 예술성 함양에 도움이 될 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship among home environment, emotional intelligence and music interest which middle school students perceive. A survey of the family environment, emotional intelligence, and music interest was conducted with regard to 406 students between the first and the third years from three middle schools in G metropolitan city and I region. The family environment of the middle school students were categorized based on the living and economic standards and parent’s education history. In order to evaluate emotional intelligence and music interest, a structural equation model was used. For the assessment of the model fit used in this study, it was measured that the model was accepted by all indexes of CFI, TLI, and RMSEA as a partial mediation model. The study result showed that the living and economic standards had direct effect on emotional intelligence while no significant effect on music interest. However, their parents` academic background affected the musical interest directly though it didn`t give the direct effect of emotional intelligence. In addition, the living and economic standards has mediation effect which influenced music interest through emotional intelligence. The result of this study suggests that not only parent and family environment played an important role but also having a strategy, which deals with the student’s emotion effectively in order to improve music interest for middle school students. And also, as this study results indicated, a school program initiated and developed by a school shall be established more to improve emotional intelligence of the middle school students thereby helping the students to express their emotion stably and to enhance artistic ability further.
