영문 초록

The clinical features and etiological factors of enuresis were studied in twenty four adult male enuretics who had been admitted to an army hospital, comparing with two control groups of nonenuretics, in one of which they had been once enuretics in their adolescence. 1. Most of enuretics ranked lower in social status in education and occupation, were withdrawn, depressed and insecure, and complained various behavioral symptoms and sexual problems. Their personality is more likely to be passive-dependent and immature. 2. Precipitating factors of adult enuretics were physical illness, hospitalization, death of mother in childhood and starting military life and other psy~ chic trauma. But most of enuretics believed the cause of their enuresis to be physical one. 3. Families of enuretics were more likely to be in low socioeconomical class and have more family problems such as large family, unhappy marital adjustment of parents, hostile and fearful father-child relationship and severe maternal deprivation than control groups. Family incidence of enuresis were significantly higher in enuretic group. 4. Whether enuresis is persistant to adult period or not, seemed to be dependent partly on past mother- child interaction.
