국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 세계 전래동요를 활용한 음악극 활동이 유아의 놀이성과 친사회적 행동에 미치는 효과를 알아보는 것에 있다. 사회적 계층과 일과 운영이 비슷한 서울시 J구 국공립어린 이집 두 곳에 재원하고 있는 만 4, 5세 유아 76명을 연구대상으로 세계 전래동요를 활용한 음악극 활동을 16회 실험집단 유아에게 실행한 후 유아의 놀이성과 친사회적 행동에 미치는 효과를 검증하기 위하여 t검증과 공변량분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과, 첫째, 세계 전래동요를 활용한 음악극 활동은 유아의 놀이성 하위요인인 주도적 참여, 인지적 융통성, 즐거움의 표현, 자발적 몰입에서 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 세계 전래동요를 활용한 음악극 활동은 유아의 친사회적 행동 하위영역인 개인정서 조절능력, 대인관계 형성능력, 유아교육기관 적응능력에서 유의한 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 세계 전래동요를 활용한 음악극 활동은 유아의 놀이성과 친사회적 행동을 증진시키는 유의한 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of music drama activity on young children’s playfulness and pro-social behavior. The subjects were four and five-year-old 76 children, attending to two childcare canters in Seoul. The experimental group consisting of 37 young children engaged in developmentally appropriate music drama activity using world traditional songs for 16 week period. The control group consisting of 39 young children participated in regular music programs according of Nu-ri curriculum. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS, t-test and ANCOVA.(Analysis of Covariance) The findings of the study were as follows. First, the experimental group demonstrated significant differences between the pretest and the posttest outcomes on subcategories of playfulness (leading participation, cognitive flexibility, expression of joy, voluntary full immersion). This result revealed a positive effect of music drama activity using world traditional on young children’s playfulness. Secondly, young children in the experimental group have shown improved pro-social behaviors (emotion-regulation, abilities to from relationships with others, ability to adapt in kindergarten) compare to those in the control group. The study result presented that young children’s pro-social behaviors have been influenced by music drama activity using world traditional songs. The findings of this study confirmed that music drama activity using world traditional songs had positive influences on young children’s playfulness and pro-social behavior. The music drama activity using world traditional songs could be further developed and applied for the kindergarten classrooms in order to promote playfulness, pro-social behaviors of young children as well as to support fostering holistic development.
