윈드 오케스트라 교육의 비교연구: 지원학교와 비지원학교를 중심으로

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 문화예술교육 지원사업인 ‘학생 오케스트라’에 참여 학생들과 비참여 학생들의 인식을 비교분석하는데 목적을 두었다. 연구대상은 충청지역에 소재한 6개 고등학교를 대상으로, 윈드 오케스트라의 활동에 참여했던 학생 가운데 230명을 연구의 표본으로 선정하였다. 첫째, 만족도 차원에서 지원학교와 비지원학교는 큰 차이를 보이지 않는다. 둘째, 악기나 기타시설을 의미하는 물리적 시설에 대한 호감도는 지원학교가 비지원학교 비해 높게 나타났다. 셋째, 지원학교가 학생들에게 동기부여를 시켜, 연습시간을 극대화시키는 것으로 추측된다. 최근의 정책적 방향이 문화예술에 대한 교육이 확대되고 있는 시점에서, 교육적 차원에서 문화예술에 대한 정책적 지원의 필요성에 대한 당위성을 제공한다는데 본 연구의 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

This study explored implications of “Youth Orchestra” which is the most typical art education projects supported by Korea. To meet this purpose, we observed the wind orchestras located in Chungcheong region and 230 students from six different schools. The result is as follows. At the satisfaction level, first of all, there are no significant differences between both students from funded school and non-funded schools. This suggests that supporting program has an influence on performance via music, but the satisfaction doesn``t differ whether it’s funded or not. Secondly, funded schools showed a higher level of positive feeling about instruments and other facilities than non-funded schools. It implies that educational outcome of students can be maximized by investing cultural facilities with financial support. This study also suggests that performing ensemble can induce the team work spirit which can be embodied by orchestra activity and it ultimately brings out improved skills of students. These days, as the education of culture and art is expanding, the current political approach can provide the necessity of political support towards it at the advanced education.
