초중등연계 세계시민교육의 효과 분석

국문 초록

본 연구는 세계시민교육 교사연구회 교사들이 개발한 초중등연계 세계시민교육의 효과를 분석하는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 해당 세계시민교육 프로그램을 적용한 초등학교와 중학교 각 2개교, 총 4개 학교의 재학생 240명에 대한 설문조사를 실시하고, t-test, 일원변량분석(one-way ANOVA), 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 분석결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 초중등연계 세계시민교육에 참여는 학생들의 세계시민의식, 양성평등에 대한 태도, 이민자에 대한 태도, 글로벌 의사소통 향상에 통계적으로 유의한 효과가 있음을 확인하였다. 둘째, 통제변인 중에서는 성별, 해외경험, 학업성취도, 가정배경이 통계적으로 세계시민의식과 유의한 관련을 맺고 있었다. 셋째, 해외여행 경험은 글로벌 이슈에 대한 관심에 정적인 영향을 미쳤지만, 해외교육 경험은 부적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과를 토대로 본 연구는 학교에서 세계시민교육이 특정한 교과를 넘어 주제에 초점을 맞출 필요가 있으며, 주제 중심으로 초중등 교육과정을 연계하려는 노력이 필요하다는 점을 제안하였다.

영문 초록

This study aims to analyze the effects of a associated global citizenship education program between primary and middle school curriculum on students’ global citizenship. For this purpose, this study applied this program to 4 schools(2 primary and 2 middle schools), and surveyed 240 students from these schools. The data were analyzed using t-test, one-way ANOVA, and regression analysis. The results of the analysis are as follows. First, the participation in the collaborative global citizenship program had a positive effect on the global citizenship, attitude to gender equality, attitude to tights of immigrant, global communication of students significantly after controlled level of school. Second, gender, international experience, academic achievement, and SES had a association with global citizenship among the control variables. Thirds, the experience of oversea travel have a positive effect but the experience of education in foreign country have a negative effect on global issues significantly. According to the results, this study suggest that global citizenship education in school need to focus on the related themes beyond the specific subject, and more efforts to associate between primary and secondary school curriculum based on the themes.
