영문 초록

It was well known that psychological change may occur to the patients under the operation of stressful events and the patients m ig h t have differences in the individual reactions to such stress. Many psychological factors, such as personal characteristic tendency, the experience of trauma in early age, the fear of anesthesia and physical damage m ight affect the emotional levels of patients. The author had examined 100 operative patients (53 males, 47 females) hospitalized in Seoul Red Cross Hospital from 1st of January to the end of June 1983 w ith the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (ST A I). The results were as followings; 1) Generally pre-operative anxiety was discovered highly rather than trait anxiety. In female patients, the pre-operative anxieties were more elevated than trait anxiety, and the levels or per-operative anxieties were significa-ntly higher than the levels or post-operative anxiety. 2) In female patients among 2nd and 3rd decade group and 4th and 5th decade group, the anxiety levels were decreased after operation, but in male patients no differences during pre-operations or post-operations. 3) Female patients group who were satisfied with the results of operation had low anxiety after operation, but in male papients the statistic significances about the variety of anxiety were not found between pre-and post-operation. 4) While the levels of the post-operative anxiety were increased in in the low pre-operative groups, but in moderate and h igh pre-operative anxiety levels were decreased. 5) After comparing with two groups, the one which had low level of anxiety in pre-operation and the other moderate level of anxiety, “p < 0. 05” was found significantly. It was indicated that some levels of anxiety were normal reactions in operations, and the psychological problems were included in the low and high pre-operative anxiety
