영문 초록

Brain CT and EEG studies were done on 73 epileptic patients to investigate the correlation between CT and EEG findings in them. The results were as follows; 1) The frequency of abnormal CT findings was highest in the group of onset over 31 years of age (62.5%), lowest in the group of onset between 11 years and 20 years of age (24.0^) and these two groups showed statistically significant difference in the frequency of abnormal CT finding (p <0.05). 2) The frequency of abnormal CT findings in the cases with presumable etiology was significanty higher than that in the cases with unknown etiology (p<0.05). 3) The group with epiletic attack more than once a week showed higher frequency of abnormal CT findings than the group with epileptic attackless than once a week (p < 0 .05). 4) 25 cases showed abnormal CT findings (34.7%). Partial epilepsies showed higher frequency of abnormal CT findings than primary generalized epilepsies (p > 0.1). Secondary generalized epilepsies showed higher frequency of abnormal CT findings than primary generalized epilepsies and than partial epilepsies (p<0.05, p<0.05). 5) A ll of Lennox syndrome, 55.6% of partial motor epilepsies, 36.4% of psychomotor epilepsies and 32.4% of generalized tonic clonic epilepsies showed abnormal CT findings. All of pure petit mal and myoclonic epilepsies had normal CT findings. 6) In the group with abnormal CT findings, basic abnormal rhythms were more frequent than paroxysmal abnormal rhythms on EEG study (p <0.05). 7) Seven cases showed same localization on both CT and EEG studies and these seven cases occupied 30.4% of the cases with partially abnormal EEG findings.
