영문 초록

The authors surveyed the frequencies of the five frequent premenstrual symptom groups by using premenstrual Assessment Form, i.e. MDS(Major depressive syndrome), WRS(Water retention syndrome), GDS(General discomfort syndrome), IS(Impulsive syndrome), and ISF(Impaired social functioning), in 464 women in general population by random sampling in Taegu, Korea during 2 months from July 20，1985 to Sep 20，1985. The results were as follows: 1) Among the premenstrual symptom groups, GDS was most frequent, 59.3%, followed by ISF 45.7%, MDS 31.7%, IS 19.8% and WRS 17.7%. 2) There were significant differences of the frequencies of MDS, WRS and IS among the age groups. Especially, the frequencies of WRS increased, as the age advanced. 3) All premenstrual symptom groups except WRS tended to be least frequent in the group 20，s. Comparing the group 20，s to other age groups, MDS, IS, GDS and ISF were significantly more frequent in 10，s，MDS in 30’s and WRS in 40’s.
