영문 초록

This study was done to evaluate the degree of psychosocial stress, the effectiveness of group psychotherapy and the usability of WPSI scales in group psychotherapy for epileptic patients. The results were as following; 1) Compared with the control group, the therapy group showed significant results in adjustment to seizure scale, medicine and medical management scale and overall psychosocial functioning scale after group psychotherapy. If we have more than four sessions, better results can be expected. However, sometimes the evaluation of the possibility of epilepsy overlapped with the presence of another disease and the treatment effects relating to this condition should be studied. 2) WPSI was considered suitable because it was used for psychosocial stress in epileptic patient only. 3) The highly marked level of psychosocial stress was shown in both groups (therapy group: 61.3% control group: 80%) 4) In the viewpoint of the therapy courses, group cohesion was developed effectively through group therapy and when the trained leader is selected from among the patients, the patients can establish and develop their own abilities
