국문 초록

2027 WYD가 서울대교구에서 개최되는 것으로 정해지면서, 한국 교회는 대내적으로는청년 사목 쇠퇴에 대한 패배주의적 시각을 넘고, 대외적으로는 지구화된 맥락에서 보편교회와 모든 젊은이에게 희망을 제시할 과제를 부여받았다. 이에 본 연구는 한국 청년의 삶의 조건과 종교적 특징을 심층적으로 살피고, 이를 통해 밝힌 그들의 삶의 자리 및 종교적 원의와 맞닿은 통합적인 청년 사목 구조를 제언하며, 통합적 사목 구조를 통해 양성된청년들이 2027 WYD가 보편교회에 기여할 수 있는 지점을 제시하였다. 한국 청년 세대는 다중 압력의 개인화라는 사회-구조적 조건에 배태되어 있으며, 세속 시대의 특징으로말미암아 자기 삶과의 연관성이 느껴지지 않는 종교로부터 지속적으로 이탈하는 탈종교현상이 심화되고 있다. 청년 세대는 자율성과 진정성, 주체성, 효용성 등을 성찰하며 종교와 초월적인 것에 관한 사사화된 종교성을 구성해나가는데, 그것이 교회의 사목과 맞닿은지점은 ‘성사적 동반(enchanted companionship)’에 있다. 성사적 동반을 통해 열린 환대와동등한 경청에서 시작하여 하느님-이웃-자기 초월의 체험을 경험한 청년들은 ‘거룩하고전인적인(holy-holistic)’회복, 치유, 위안을 경험한다. 이 경험으로부터 교회에 머물고 정체성을 구성하는 청년들은 ‘다중 압력의 개인화’로 인한 배태된 취약성으로부터 자신을 성장시키며 소명을 찾고자 노력한다. 이러한 청년 종교성을 기반으로 본 연구는 2027 WYD를 위한 통합적 청년 사목 구조 쇄신과 보편교회를 위한 기여에 관해 제언하였다.

영문 초록

With the announcement to host the 2027 World Youth Day (WYD) in the Archdiocese of Seoul, the Korean Catholic Church has been tasked with overcoming a pessimistic outlook on the decline of young adult ministry internally while also presenting hope to the Catholic Church and all young people in the context of globalization. This study focuses on the realities and religiosity of Korean young adults, proposing an integrated young adult ministry framework that is in line with their life and religious needs, as well as underlining how the framework can benefit 2027 WYD. The younger generation is concerned with autonomy, authenticity, sovereignty, and utility, constructing a ‘privatized religiosity’ reflecting how relevant religion and the transcendent fit their life, where they vary intersectional points with the pastoral ministry, which is linked to ‘enchanted companionship.’ Through enchanted companionship, young adults who experience God, neighbor, and self-transcendence begin with hospitality and listening intimately, experiencing ‘holy-holistic’ recovery, healing, and solace. From this experience, young adults engage in the Church and establish their identity, striving to discover and concretize their calling, overcoming the vulnerabilities caused by the ‘individualization under multiple pressures.’ Based on these young adults' religiosity, this study suggests considerations for the renewal of an integrated young adult ministry framework for the 2027 WYD and contributions to the Catholic Church.
