경찰공무원의 우울증이 직무만족 및 갈등에 미치는 영향

국문 초록

이 연구에서는 경찰공무원의 우울증 실태를 파악하여 그 심각성의 수준을 확인하고, 이를 경찰공무원의 직무만족과 갈등의 수준과 실증적으로 비교·분석하여 경찰공무원이 우울증이 직무만족 및 직장 내·외부 갈등에 미치는 영향을 파악하고자 하였다. 경찰공무원의 우울증 수준 측정은 한국어판 우울증 선별도구(PHQ- 9)를 활용하였는데, 조사대상자의 우울증 수준은 전반적으로 그렇게 높게 나타나지는 않았지만, 경증도 이상의 우울증을 보이는 있는 경우가 30% 이상으로 나타나 적지 않은 수준이었다. 우울증 수준이 직무만족 및 직장 내·외부 갈등에 미치는 영향을 확인하기 위하여 조사대상자의 우울증 수준과 직무만족을 회귀분석하고, 직장 내·외부 갈등과 우울증 수준을 요인으로 하여 집단별 평균을 분산분석(ANOVA)하였다. 조사대상자의 우울증 수준과 직무만족을 회귀분석한 결과, 우울증 수준과 직무만족은 통계적으로 유의미한 부적인 관계가 확인되어 경찰공무원의 우울증 수준이 높아질수록 직무만족은 낮아진다는 것을 확인하였다. 조사대상자의 우울증 수준과 직장 내·외부 갈등을 요인으로 하여 집단별 평균을 분산분석(ANOVA)한 결과, 직장 내·외부 갈등의 여부에 따른 우울증 수준은 둘 다 그 차이가 크지 않고 통계적으로 유의미한 수준은 아니었으나 직장 내·외부 갈등 경험이 있는 경우가 직장 내·외부 갈등 경험이 없는 경우보다 우울증 수준이 다소 높게 나타났다.

영문 초록

In this study, I identified the actual state of depression among police officials, confirmed its level of severity, and empirically compared and analyzed this with the level of job satisfaction and conflict of police officials to determine whether depression affects police officials' job satisfaction and conflicts inside and outside the workplace. The Korean version of the depression screening tool(PHQ-9) was used to measure the level of depression of police officers. Although the depression level of the majority of those surveyed was not very high, more than 30% of people had mild or more severe depression, which is quite a number. In order to confirm the effect of depression level on job satisfaction and conflict inside and outside the workplace, the depression level and job satisfaction of the survey subjects were regressed, and the average for each group was analyzed using variance analysis(ANOVA) was performed. As a result of a regression analysis of the depression level and job satisfaction of the survey subjects, a statistically significant negative relationship was confirmed between the depression level and job satisfaction, confirming that as the depression level of police officers increases, job satisfaction decreases. As a result of analysis of variance(ANOVA) on the averages for each group using the depression level of the survey subjects and internal and external conflicts at work as factors, the differences in depression levels according to internal and external conflicts at work were not large and were statistically significant. However, cases with experience of conflict within and outside the workplace showed slightly higher levels of depression than those without experience with conflict inside and outside the workplace.
