예비입양부모 교육프로그램의 효과에 관한 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 예비입양부모의 입양부모역할 효능감을 높이기 위한 사전교육 프로그램을 개발하고, 그 효과를 검증하는 것을 목적으로 수행되었다. 사전교육 프로그램은 총 6회기로 진행되었으며, 1회기에 두 시간씩 진행하였다. 본 프로그램은 아동복지학 전공 교수인 저자와 입양기관의 입양상담 실무경험이 10년 이상 된 사회복지사가 공동으로 진행하였으며, 예비입양부모 5명이 프로그램 참여하였다. 본 프로그램의 효과 검증은 부모역할 효능감 척도로 사전검사와 사후검사를 실시하였으며, 비모수 통계검증인 윌콕슨 검증으로 분석하였다. 효과검증결과 본 프로그램에 참여한 예비입양부모들은 통계적으로 유의미하게 부모역할 효능감이 증가하였다. 그리고 프로그램 진행과정의 프로그램 기록일지를 내용 분석한 결과에서도 입양부모로서 정체성을 가지고 준비하는데 많은 도움이 되었다고 나타났다. 본 연구는 국내에서 최초로 강의식이 아닌 집단 활동 방법으로 예비입양부모 사전교육 프로그램을 개발하고 그 효과성을 검증하였다는 점에서 그 의의가 있다. 그러나 본 프로그램에 참가한 참가자들이 자발적으로 참가하였다는 점과 비교집단이 없었다는 점에서 본 연구 결과를 일반화하는데 한계가 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to develop a training program for pre-adoptive parents and examine its effectiveness. The program sessions were conducted six times for 2 hours a week from October 16 to November 20, 2006. The trainers of this program were a professor with a degree in child welfare and a social worker who had worked more than 10 years for an adoption institute. Five pre-adoptive mothers took part in this program. The effectiveness of this program was assessed using a Parenting Sense of Competence Scale. The comparison of pretest and posttest was analyzed by a Wilcoxon ranks sum test, and program data were analyzed by content analysis. The results of this study were as follows: First, the program participants reported feeling a significant increase in their parenting competence, which was assessed using the criteria of parent role accomplishment, parent role satisfaction and birth parent relations. Second, the participants gained confidence in their ability to understand the character of adoptive parents, young adoptive children and birth parents. They also became acquainted with the option of open adoption.
