국문 초록

The aim of this study was to examine the effect of mothers’ happiness and parenting stress on children’s self-esteem by focusing on the mediating role of parenting efficacy. To study these subjects, I conducted a survey targeting mothers who have children aged between 4 and 5. A total of 461 questionnaires were analyzed. The SPSS 22 and AMOS 22 programs were used to analyze the data according to structural equation modelling analysis. As a result, it was found that parenting efficacy functioned as a parameter in the relationships among happiness, parenting stress, and self-esteem. It is important to realize the significance of mothers’ happiness and parenting stress management since they play a key role in understanding and improving children’s self-esteem. In addition, there should be social support systems to increase mothers’ happiness and to decrease their parenting stress. This study is meaningful since it suggests a huge need for developing various educational programs for parents to improve their parenting efficacy.
