상업출판물 칠언당음(七言唐音) 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 19세기 중후반부터 20세기 초에 유통된 상업출판물 당시 선집의 실상을 파악하는 목적에서 칠언절구 당시 선집의 내용 분석을 시도한 것이다. 본 연구에 앞서 오언절구 당시 선집인 ‘오언당음’ 계열의 한시 선집 목록과 성격이 소개되었고, 본고는 그 후속 연구로서 ‘칠언당음’ 계열 선집을 대상으로 그 내용과 성격을 검토하였다. 상업출판물 칠언당음은 19세기 중·후반경 방각본 『당음정선칠언(唐音精選七言)』 2종과 『칠언당음(七言唐音)』 1종이 제작되었다. 이 방각본들은 20세기 초까지 여러 출판사에서 방각본의 판목 그대로 재발행되면서 오랜 기간 한시 학습의 필독서이자 한시 교양서의 한 역할을 담당하였다. 1919년에 이르러서는 방각본의 목록을 계승하되, 시에 주해를 덧붙인 모습으로 활판본 『증정주해칠언당음(增訂註解七言唐音)』이 간행되었다. 이 책을 마지막으로 ‘칠언당음’ 은 더 이상 상업출판물로 만들어지지 않았다. 본고에서는 이러한 칠언당음 선집들의 출간 실태를 확인하고, 각 책을 구성하고 있는 시들의 출처와 편집 방식, 그 성격까지 살펴보았다. 이를 통해 상업출판물 한시 선집의 존재 방식, 한문 방각본의 실상, 이 선집들을 구매했던 ‘통속적 식자층’의 한시 학습 방향을 이해하는 계기를 마련하고자 하였다.

영문 초록

This paper identifies the reality of commercially published Chinese poetry anthologies and analyzes their contents and characteristics. With the goal of identifying one direction of Chinese poetry learning shared from the mid-to-late 19th century to the early 20th century, we focused on anthologies of Chinese poetry that were actively circulated during this period. Through a previous paper, we identified the list and characteristics of books in the ‘Oeondangeum(五言唐音)’ series, an anthology from the time of Oeonjeolgu(五言絶句), and this paper attempted to analyze the anthology at the time of Chireonjeolgu(七言絶句) as a follow up study. At the time of the commercial publication Chireonjeolgu, two types of anthology books were produced: 『Dangeumjeongseonchilreon(唐音精選七言)』 and 『Chireondangeum(七言唐音)』. These books were reissued by various publishers in the early 20th century and served as must reads and basic books for learning Chinese poetry for a long time. Then, in 1919, the printed version 『Jeungjeongjuhaechireondangeum(增訂註解七言唐音)』 appeared. This book was produced in a format that inherited the existing list of poems in the Chireondangeum series and added commentary. Finally, the Chireondangeum series of books were no longer published as commercial publications. In this paper, we checked the publication status of the Chireondangeum series of anthologies and looked at the content and characteristics of each book. Through this, we attempted to lay the foundation for understanding the existence of commercially published Chinese poetry anthologies.
