여성 목회자의 여성-되기 경험에 관한 비판적 질적연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 비판적 질적연구로 가부장적인 교회 구조 및 문화에 순응하지 않고 변화를 시도하는 여성 목회자의 ‘여성-되기’ 경험을 탐색하는 것에 목적이 있다. 비판적 질적연구는 비판이론에 기반 한 질적연구로 불평등한 사회 구조나 관계를 드러내어 해결 방안을 찾는 것에 관심을 둔다. 이러한 연구 목적을 달성하기 위해 3명의 연구참여자를 선정하였으며 심층면담을 통해 자료를 수집하였다. 수집된 자료를 중심으로 내용분석을 실시한 결과, 4개의 주제 및 12개의 의미가 도출되었다. 상위 범주인 4개의 주제는 홈 패인 공간에서의 어려움, 몰적인 여성들을 마주함, 함께 여성-되기, 매끄러 운 공간의 생성이며 연구결과를 바탕으로 제시한 논의는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 연구참여자들은 목사안수 이후에도 남성 중심의 교회에서 지도력이 제한되는 어려움을 경 험하고 있었으며, 이것은 여성-되기로 나아가는 동력이 되었다. 둘째, 연구참여자들은 여성-되기의 과정에서 반대자로 나타나는 여성 동료들과 여성-되기를 함께 실천하는 여성 동료들을 모두 마주하 였다. 셋째, 연구참여자들의 여성-되기 과정에서 남성들의 협력은 미미한 것으로 나타났다.

영문 초록

This study aims to explore the experience of ‘Becoming Woman’ among female pastors who refuse to conform to patriarchal church culture through critical qualitative research. Critical qualitative research is qualitative research based on critical theory and is interested in finding solutions by revealing unequal social structures or relationships. Three research participants were selected and data were collected through in-depth interviews. As a result of content analysis, four categories and twelve meanings were derived. The four categories are difficulties in striated space, facing molecular women, Becoming-Women with, and creating smooth space. The discussion presented based on these research results is as follows. First, female pastors still experience difficulties with limited leadership in the male-dominated church after their ordinations, and it led them into Becoming-Women. Second, church women’s responses to male-centered church culture were different. In the process of Becoming-woman, research participants encountered female colleagues as both opponents and supporters. Third, men’s cooperation to change the church’s patriarchal culture appeared to be minimal.
