상호 문화 이해의 관점에서 본 ‘활동’ 중심의 한국문화교육방안

국문 초록

본 논문에서는 상호 문화 이해에 목적을 둔 한국 문화 교육의 한 방안을 살펴보았다. 이때 중국인 고급 학습자를 대상으로 중국과 한국의 설화를 활용하여 ‘활동’을 중심으로 살펴보았다. 먼저 관련 선행 연구를 검토한 결과, 설화를 활용할 경우, 그 활동은 주로 한국 문화에만 초점을 두고 있었다. 하지만 고급 학습자라 하더라도 한국 문화에 대한 관련 지식이 제한적일 수밖에 없다. 따라서 학습자에게 익숙한 모국 설화에 반영된 문화 지식을 스키마로 활용한다면 더욱 효과적일 것이라 보았다. 이러한 스키마는 일회적인 것이 아니라 교수-학습의 과정에서 지속적으로 누적되어 적용될 수 있을 것이다. 이러한 관점에서 먼저 중국의 <모의녀> 설화를, 뒤에 한국의 <선녀와 나무꾼> 설화를 제시하 고, 이에 반영된 문화 요소를 활용한 ‘활동’ 중심의 교수-학습 방안을 제안하였다. 이를 바탕으로 양국의 설화 내용에서 추출할 수 있는 문화 요소와 관련된 활동, 상호 문화 교 육이라는 측면에서의 활동을 제안하였다. 이때 한국 문화와 관련해서 학습자들에게 제 공해야 할 참고 자료도 함께 제시하였다.

영문 초록

In this paper, I examined a method of Korean cultural education aimed at mutual cultural understanding. In this case, I focused on ‘activities’ using Chinese and Korean folktales for advanced Chinese learners. First, I reviewed the relevant prior research and found that when using folktales, the activities were mainly focused on Korean culture only. However, even advanced learners have limited knowledge of Korean culture, so I thought it would be more effective to use cultural knowledge reflected in native tales familiar to learners as schemas. These schemas could be applied not once, but continuously and cumulatively in the process of teaching and learning. From this perspective, I first presented the Chinese tale ‘Moeunyeo’ and then the Korean tale ‘The fairy and the woodcutter’, and proposed an activity-based teaching and learning method that utilizes cultural elements reflected in these tales. Based on this, I proposed activities related to cultural elements that can be extracted from the contents of the two tales, and activities in terms of cross-cultural education. At the same time, I also presented reference materials that should be provided to learners related to Korean culture.
