해상교통로 차단 시 우리나라 경제에 미치는 영향 분석

국문 초록

최근 들어 국가간 영토분쟁과 해상테러리즘에 의해 해상운송에 영향을 미치는 다양한 변수들이 증가하고 있다. 특히, 해상으로 운송되는 수출입 물동량이 많고, 세계 7위의 항만을 보유하고 있는 우리나라의 경우 해상교통로에 차질이 생길 경우 막대한 경제적 피해를 볼 가능성이 높다. 이에 본 논문에서는 해상교통로 차단 시 우리나라 경제에 미치는 파급효과를 분석하였으며, 동시에 위험성이 존재하는해상교통로를 4가지 시나리오로 구분하여 각각 분석하였다. 분석결과 우리나라 전체 해상교통로가차단될 경우 하루에 5.5조원의 총산출 감소와 약 1.6만 명의 고용 감소가 발생하는 것으로 나타났다. 특히, 화학제품, 1차 금속제품, 운송장비 산업의 총 산출이 크게 감소하는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서주변국 및 우호국과의 군사적 협력을 통해 철저한 해상교통로 보호가 필요하며, 다른 국가 사이의분쟁에 의한 교통로 차단 시 발생할 수 있는 경제적 피해에 대한 대비책도 마련할 필요가 있다.

영문 초록

Recently, various variables affecting maritime transportation have been increasing due to territorial disputes and maritime terrorism between countries. In particular, South Korea, which has a large volume of imports and exports transported by sea and the world's seventh-largest port, is likely to suffer enormous economic damage if maritime transportation routes are disrupted. Therefore, in this paper, the spillover effect of blocking maritime traffic routes on the Korean economy was analyzed. In addition, maritime traffic routes with risks were classified into four scenarios and analyzed respectively. As a result of the analysis, when all maritime transportation routes in Korea were blocked, total output decreased by 5.5 trillion won and employment decreased by about 160,000 people per day. In particular, it was found that the total output of chemical products, primary metal products, and transport equipment industries decreased significantly. Therefore, maritime traffic protection is needed through military cooperation with neighboring and friendly countries. In addition, it is necessary to prepare countermeasures against economic damage that may occur when blocking traffic routes due to disputes between other countries.
