국문 초록

본 논문은 종교 신학에서의 비교 신학의 위치에 대해 알아보고자 한다. 오늘날은 다종교 사회이며, 사회 안에서 서로 다른 종교를 가진 이들과 함께 살아간다. 이러한 상황에서 그리스도교는 종교 신학을 통해 다른 종교와의 관계를 설정하고자 하며, 종교 간의 대화를 하고자 한다. 그리스도교의 종교 신학에서의 세 분류는 하느님의 보편적 구원 의지와 예수그리스도의 구원 중개자로서의 특수성 가운데 어디에 중점을 두느냐에 따라 나뉜다. 배타주의는 그리스도의 구원 중개자로서의 특수성만을 인정하며, 그리스도와 교회 없이는 구원이 없다고 본다. 포괄주의는 두 가지 모두 받아들인다. 다른 종교도 구원에 이를 수지만, 그리스도와 교회를 통한 구원이 우위에 있다고 본다. 다원주의는 하느님의 보편적 구원 의지에 집중하여 모든 종교는 구원에 있어 같은 입장이라고 본다. 그리스도교 또한 다른 종교와 다르지 않고 동등한 입장이며, 원활한 종교 간의 대화를 위해 종교의 우선시함이나 특별함을 버려야 한다고 주장한다. 그리스도교는 가장 중요한 그리스도와 교회라는 본질을 버릴 수 없기에 다원주의의 주장은 큰 위기로 인식되었다. 한편, 비교 신학은 다른 종교와의 비교를 출발점으로 사용한다. 다른 종교와의 비교를 통해 종교 간의 대화를 할 수 있기에, 그리스도교의 핵심을 버리지 않아도 된다. 비교 신학은 비교를 통해 타종교에 대한 이해를 높이고, 자기 종교로 돌아와 새로워진 견해로 다시 성찰하는 것이다. 비교 신학이 종교 신학에서 어느 분류에 해당하는가에 대해 폴 니터는 자신의 분류법인 대체, 완성, 관계, 수용의 네 가지 모델 가운데 수용의 모델, 즉 종교간의 다름을 인정하는 경향에 해당한다고 본다. 여기에서 관계 모델이나 다원주의가 주장하는 버려야 할 자기 종교의 특별함이 고유성으로 등장한다. 하느님의 보편적 구원 의지와 그리스도의 구원의 중개자로서의 특수성이 모두 드러난다면 포괄주의와도 같은 맥락에 있을 수 있다. 비교 신학은 효과적인 종교 간의 대화를 위한 방법 중 하나가 될 수 있다.

영문 초록

This study tries to find out the position of comparative theology in the theology of religions. Modern era is a multiple religious society, and live together with those who have different religions. Under such circumstances, Christianity aims to establish the relationship with other religions and interreligious dialogues through comparative theology. The three classifications of theology of religions in Christianity are divided by where they put the focusing point either God’s universal salvation Will or the distinct characteristics of Jesus Christ as a salvation intermediary. Exclusivism admits only the distinct characteristics of Christ as a salvation intermediary, and thinks that there is no salvation without Christ and the Church. All-inclusive theory accepts both, other religion can reach salvation but the salvation through Christ and the Church is on the superior position. Pluralism concentrates on God’s universal salvation Will, accepts the position that all religions are on the same position in salvation. Christianity is also not different from other religions but on equal footing, and asserts to eliminate its prioritizing or distinction for smooth interreligious dialogues. Pluralism’s assertion is perceived as a big crisis to Christianity, because Christianity cannot abandon Christ and the Church, which are the most important essences. On the other hand, comparative theology uses comparisons with other religions as its starting point. As interreligious dialogues is possible through the comparison with other religions, it is not needed to abandon the essence of Christianity. Comparative theology enhances the understanding about other religions through comparisons, returns to its religion and contemplates again with renewed point of views. With Regarding which classification is the comparative theology in the theology of religions, P. F. Knitter thought that it is located in acceptance model which admits the difference in religions, among 4 models of those; replacement, completion, relationship and acceptance. Here, relationship model and each religions’ distinct characteristics which should be abandoned that pluralism claimed, are appeared as the uniqueness. If God’s universal salvation Will and the distinct characteristic of Christ as an intermediary are all revealed, all-inclusive theory can be in the same context. Comparative theology can be one of the effective methods for interreligious dialogues.
