국문 초록

우리나라에서 이루어지는 성교육 내용에 대한 전반적 이해를 위해서 교회는 성평등 교육 정책, 관련 법 그리고 학교 교과서에 관한 연구를 지속해서 해야 한다. 그렇지 않으면 현재 우리나라에서 어떤 성교육이 어떻게 이루어지는지 그리고 그리스도인 자녀들이 젠더 교육에 얼마나 영향을 받고 있는지 알 수 없기 때문이다. 그동안 교회는 성(sex)과 성(性)의 본질적 가치인 섹슈얼리티(sexuality) 전달에 대한 의무를 다하지 못했다. 그러는 가운데 사회는 젠더를 중심으로 하는 교육 정책과 법안 그리고 학교 교육을 위한 계획을 마련하고 단계별로 젠더 인식이 아이들과 학생들에게 스며들도록 가르치고 있다. 성교육에 대한 교회와 사회의 태도가 너무나 다르고 성교육 프로그램의 양과 질적인 차이는 급격하게 벌어지고 있다. 한국 사회에서의 가톨릭 역량은 점점더 축소되어 가고 있는 반면에 젠더 이데올로기는 영향력을 확대하고 있다. 그리고 이제는 교회 내의 몇몇 성직자와 수도자 중심으로 젠더를 용인하고 그들을 위한 미사나 그들이 속한 공동체에서 젠더 교육을 진행하고 있다. 제2차 바티칸 공의회부터 강조된 성교육은 아직 시작도 하지 못했는데, 이미 젠더 교육은 교회 내에서도 점차 확산하고 있다. 교회가 강조했던 학제간 통합적 내용을 바탕으로 교육하는 단계별 성교육은 이미 많이 늦었다. 정부의 젠더 교육 정책은 시행착오를 넘어서서 발전과 확대로 나아가고 있는데, 교회는 아직 제대로 된 성교육을 진행조차 하지 못하고 있기 때문이다. 젠더는 이미 이슈나 쟁점의 차원을 넘어서 의식화되어 가고 있다. 늦었다고 생각되는 지금이 단계별 성교육 정책을 위한 시작을 할 때다.

영문 초록

The Korean Catholic Church should carry on the study of Gender Equality education policy, its relating law and the text book for overall understanding on sex education contents in Korea. If not, the Church could not know what kind of sex education is made in our country, and how much the Christian children are influenced from the gender education. Meanwhile, the Church failed to perform the duty of transferring the sexuality, which is the intrinsic virtue of sex and gender. In the mean time, the society prepared the programs, education policy, legislative bill, education centering on gender, and taught children and students to permeate with gender awareness step by step. The attitude of the Church and society toward sex education are too different, and the gap between the sex education programs, in quality and quantity, widened rapidly. While the competence of Catholic Church in Korean society has been downsized gradually, on the other hand, the power and influence of gender ideology have been expanded. And even few priests and religious took the lead in accepting gender, celebrating the mass, and progressing gender education within their belonging communities. Although the sex education, which is emphasized from the 2nd Vatican Council, has not been started yet, but the gender education has been spreaded out gradually in the Church. The phased sex education that the Church emphasized, which is based on interdisciplinary combined contents, is already too late. The reason is the gender education policy of the government is moving to growth expansion over the trial and error, the Church even did not progress the proper sex education. Gender is already over the dimension of issue and dispute, became to be consciousness raising. The moment of getting late should be the start for phased sex education policy.
