교리교육 지침서들에 나타난 교리교육의 특성

국문 초록

이 논문에서는 제2차 바티칸 공의회 이후 보편 교회에서 반포한 교리교육 지침서들의 신학적 배경과 교리교육의 방향들의 변화를 설명하였다. 1971년에 반포된 『교리교육에 관한 일반 지침서』는 첫 번째 지침서이었기에, 교리교육에 대한 전반적 내용을 포괄적으로 담았다. 특별히 1950-1960년대에 있었던 교리교육에 관한 국제회의의 결과를 이 지침서는 포함하기 위해 노력하였다. 그래서 그리스도 중심주의 교리교육이라는 신학적 기초를 통한 교리교육의 방향을 설정하였다. 1997년에 반포된 『교리교육 총지침』은 1992년에 반포된 『가톨릭 교회 교리서』를 더욱 잘 사용하기 위한 교리교육적인 방향을 제시하기 위해 반포되었다. 물론 『가톨릭 교회 교리서』의 교리교육에로의 적용에 대한 지침을 주기도 하였지만, 『총지침』은 복음화의 과정 안에서 교리교육을 바라보기 시작하였다. 그래서 이전까지 첫 번째 복음선포와 교리교육의 구분을 없애고, 초기 선교의 교리교육이라는 용어를 사용하여 복음화 전체과정 안에서의 교리교육의 역동성을 정의하기 시작하였다. 2020년에 반포된 『교리교육 지침』은 프란치스교 교황의 『복음의 기쁨』의 기본 사상인 ‘선교’를 기초로 한 교리교육의 방향을 제시한다. 복음화의 과정 안에서 교리교육은 첫 번째 복음선포에서 시작되고, 복음선포를 더욱 심화하는 역할을 함을 강조한다. 그래서 이 지침에서도 그리스도 중심주의 교리교육을 언급하지만, 이전 문헌보다 더욱 심층적으로 그리스도와의 첫 만남과 그에 대한 회개를 이끄는 총괄적 의미의 복음선포적 교리교육에 대해 말하고 있다. 보편 교회에서의 지침서들의 반포는 지역 교회의 교리교육 지침서의 출판에 자극을 준다. 보편 교회가 제시하는 원칙과 기준들이 각 지역에 맞는 환경과 상황을 고려한 지침들로 구체화되기를 바라기 때문이다. 우리나라도 이미 『한국 천주교 교리교육 지침』이 만들어져 반포되었지만, 새로운 방향을 제시한 『교리교육 지침』에 따른 다른 형태의 교리교육의 방향을 제시하는 문서의 필요성이 대두된다. 이런 의미에서 『한국천주교 청소년 사목 지침서』의 더욱 깊은 연구를 통한 활용도 깊이 고려해 볼 필요가 있다.

영문 초록

This thesis explained of the theological background of guidelines which were promulgated and of the changes of direction for catechesis after the Second Vatican Council in the Universal Church. Because The General Catechetical Directory (Directorium Catechisticum Generale) was the first directory, promulgated in 1971, it contains the general contents on catechesis wholly. Especially, in this directory we can see the effort for including the results of International Catechetical Congress which were held in 1950’s and 1960’s. Therefore, it set a catechetical direction through the theological basis, Christ-centered catechesis. The purpose of The General Directory for Catechesis promulgated in 1997 was to propose the catechetical direction for the better using of The Catechism of the Catholic Church issued in 1992. Needless to say, The General Directory for Catechesis gave guidance on the catechetical application of The Catechism of the Catholic Church and also begun to see catechesis in the process of evangelization. Therefore, it removed the distinction between the previous first proclamation of Gospel and catechesis, and begun to define the dynamic of catechesis in the process of evangelization by using the term of catechesis of early-stage mission. The Directory for Catechesis issued in 2020 propose the catechetical direction based on the ‘Mission’, the fundamental idea of The Joy of the Gospel by pope Francis. The Directory for Catechesis says that Catechesis in the process of evangelization started from the first proclamation of Gospel and underline that it plays a role to more enhance the proclamation of Gospel. Therefore, this Directory for Catechesis also mention the Christ-centered catechesis, but it is talking about the overall-meaningful Gospel-proclamatory Catechesis, which leads to the first encounter with Christ and the repentance about it in depth than the previous documents. The promulgations of the Directories in the Universal Church stimulate the publication of the ones of local churches. It is because the Universal Church wants local churches to make the directories in the circumstances and situation according to each district in the principles and criterion which the Universal Church proposes. In Korea, The Directory for Catechesis of Korea Catholic Church was made and promulgated but there is also need for the documents which propose the catechetical direction with different forms, according to The Directory for Catechesis, which showed new direction. In this meaning, the application, through deep study on The Pastoral Directory for Youth of Korea Catholic Church, needs to consider seriously.
