영문 초록

This paper analyzes the Chinese corresponding expressions of the connective ending ‘-(eu)lyeogo’ and the idiomatic expression ‘-(eu)lyeogo hada/deulda’ using the Korean-Chinese TV drama parallel corpus. The connective ending ‘-(eu)lyeogo’ appears 704 times in the parallel corpus. ‘-(eu)lyeogo’ with the meaning of [purpose] and [intention/will] corresponds to the Chinese purpose expression with the highest frequency, and corresponds to the Chinese modal verbs with a higher frequency in the parallel corpus. In addition, ‘-(eu)lyeogo’ sentences are also translated into Chinese ‘no marking’ purpose sentences—serial-verb constructions or parataxis sentences, or ‘-(eu)lyeogo’ are omitted in the translation, when there is no corresponding Chinese expression for ‘-(eu)lyeogo’. On the other hand, the idiomatic expression ‘-(eu)lyeogo hada/deulda’ appears 953 times in the parallel corpus. ‘-(eu)lyeogo hada/deulda’ only has the meaning of [intention/will], so it only forms a corresponding relationship with various Chinese modal verbs in the parallel corpus.
