국문 초록

본 연구는 고려극장의 역사적·문화적 가치를 밝히고, 세계문화유산 평가기준에 따른 문화유산 등재 적합성을 분석함으로써 고려극장의 세계문화유산적 가치를 탐색하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 먼저 고려극장에 대한 선행 연구를 분석하고, 세계문화유산의 개념과 유형, 기준에 대해 살펴보았다. 또한 등재되어 있는 카자흐스탄의 문화유산과 등재 기준을 확인하였다. 다음으로 고려극장의 역사와 역할을 살핌으로서 문화적 가치를 밝히고, 고려극장과 유사한 문화유산의 등재 기준을 토대로 고려극장의 세계문화유산적 가치를 분석하였다. 고려인의 정체성을 보존하는 역할을 담당해온 고려극장은 한민족 공동체 공연단체 중 전 세계에서 가장 오래된 기관으로 1932년 러시아에 설립되었다가 고려인의 강제이주 이후 카자흐스탄으로 이전되었다. 고려극장의 역할 및 소수민족에 대한 억압과 동화 정책의 역사가 담긴 역사적 가치를 고려할 때 고려극장은 세계문화유산의 판정 기준인 “현존하거나 사라진 문화적 전통이나 문명의 유일한 또는 적어도 독보적인 증거여야 한다”와 “탁월한 보편적 중요성이 있는 사건이나 살아있는 전통, 사상이나 신앙, 예술, 그리고 문학 작품과 직접 또는 유형적으로 연관되어야 한다”는 측면에서 문화유산적 가치를 지닌다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to explore the value of Koryo Theart as a World Cultural Heritage Site by examining the value of Koryo Theart in Kazakhstan as a heritage and analyzing the suitability of listing it as a cultural heritage according to the World Heritage Evaluation Standards. To this end, the concept, type and the standards of world cultural heritage were confi rmed. In addition, the cultural heritage of Kazakhstan, which has already been registered, and the criteria for its registration were confi rmed. Next, in order to reveal the cultural value of Koryo Theart, the history of Koryo Theart, the relationship between Koryo Theart and Koryoin, and the role of Koryo Theart that continues to this day were examined. In addition, the World Heritage value of Koryo Theart was analyzed based on the criteria for listing cultural heritages similar to Koryo Theart. Considering the historical value of the suppression of minorities and the history of fairy tale policies, starting with the role of the Koryo Theart and the active migration policy, the Koryo Theart has cultural heritage value. The criterion for judgment is “bear a unique or at least exceptional testimony to a cultural tradition or to a civilization which is living or which has disappeared” and “be directly or tangibly associated with events or living traditions, with ideas, or with beliefs, with artistic and literary works of outstanding universal signifi cance”.
