국문 초록

본 연구는 기계적 복제와 디지털을 활용한 차용미술 양상을 고찰하고 그 미학적 의의를 재고한 것이다. 더불어 차용작품의 미감과 미학이 고전 회화에 대한 색다른 감상과 이해를 돕는 작용을 살펴 미술 교양 교육의 새로운 방향성을 살펴보았다. 현대미술은 과학기술 발달에 따른 미디어와 만나 새로운 예술로의 확산과 발전을 거듭하였다. 미술에 미디어를 결합한 형태인 미디어아트는 보편적으로 사진, TV, 비디오, 컴퓨터 등의 다양한 대중 매체를 미술에 도입한 경우를 가리킨다. 이러한 미디어의 발전으로 부각된 차용미술은 타인의 작품 이미지를 사용 변형해 새로운 작품을 만드는 것으로, 차용미술의 본질은 차용 작품 속에 보이는 익숙함과 새로움이라는 중층적 미학을 생성하며 원작과는 다른 미감을 발현하는 데 있다. 최근에는 전통회화 이미지들도 복제 차용되며 한국 현대미술의 중요한 모티프로 활용되고 있다. 미디어아트에서의 전통회화 차용은 미술 교양 교육에 새로운 방법론을 제시할 수 있다. 예를들어 이이남의 작품 <신 금강전도>(2009)의 경우 원작 이미지가 영상 초입에 그대로 노출되면서 익숙하다고 여기는 원작의 구성과 구조를 다시금 지각하게 되는데, 이것은 원작의 피상적인 인식에서 실질적인 인식으로 전환되는 계기를 마련할 수 있다. 학습자들과 작품을 감상한 후 원작에 대한 분석과 의견을 토론하는 시간을 통해 원작에 대한 새로운 성찰을 이끌어 낼 수 있다. 또한 학습자에게 전통회화를 디지털을 활용해 자유롭게 복제, 변형해 보도록 함으로써 원작에 대한 진지한 태도와 흥미를 유발시킬 수 있다. 이를 통해 관조를 기반으로 하는 전통적인 감상 태도에서 벗어나 능동적인 감상 주체자가 될 여지가 충분할 것으로 판단한다. 따라서 차용미술을 학습자의 미적 체험 범주를 넓히고, 원작 감상의 새로운 경험은 미술 교양 교육에서 실행 가능한 방법론의 하나로 기대할 수 있다.

영문 초록

This study examines aspects of appropriation art using mechanical and digital reproduction and reconsiders its aesthetic signifi cance. In addition, we looked at the new direction of liberal arts education by examining how the beauty and aesthetics of borrowed works help a different appreciation and understanding of classical paintings. Modern art has continued to spread and develop into new art through its encounter with media following the development of science and technology. Media art, a form of combining media with art, generally refers to the introduction of various mass media such as photography, TV, video, and computers into art. Appropriation art, which emerged as a result of the development of media, is the creation of new works by using and transforming images of other people's works. The essence of borrowed art is that it creates a multilayered aesthetic of familiarity and newness seen in borrowed works, creating an aesthetic that is diff erent from the original work. It lies in manifesting. Recently, images from traditional paintings have been copied and used as important motifs in Korean contemporary art. Borrowing traditional paintings in media art can present a new methodology for art education. For example, in the case of Lee Lee-nam's work (2009), the original image is exposed at the beginning of the video, and the composition and structure of the original work, which is considered familiar, is perceived again. This changes from superfi cial recognition of the original work to actual recognition. You can create an opportunity to do so. After appreciating the work with learners, time to analyze and discuss the original work can lead to new refl ections on the original work. In addition, by allowing learners to freely copy and modify traditional paintings using digital technology, it can stimulate a serious attitude and interest in the original work. Through this, it is judged that there will be enough room to break away from the traditional appreciation attitude based on contemplation and become an active subject of appreciation. Therefore, borrowed art can be expected to expand the scope of learners' aesthetic experience and provide a new experience of appreciating original works as a viable methodology in art education.
